About This Game

In The Dark Horde, time is your most valuable resource. Every action you take costs Time Units (TUs), forcing you to think ahead.

Once you've spent your TUs, you must wait for your turn to resume. You can only play cards or abilities when Time is paused, so think strategically!

Summon powerful minions and cast devastating spells from your dark spellbook. Experiment with synergies between your cards to unleash devastating combos.

Whether commanding demons or invoking Death itself, build an army to overwhelm your enemies and dominate the battlefield.

The objective is clear: either plunder the enemy Village or survive for 3 days against waves of angry Villagers. Every round starts with 180 Time Units.

Spend them wisely to play cards or actions, then wait for your next turn. Seize gold, harvest souls, and destroy the enemy settlement!

With every victory, earn loot to enhance your deck. Upgrade cards, abilities, and unlock new, powerful skills to strengthen your strategy.

The choices you make will shape your path—plan carefully, upgrade strategically, and prepare for increasingly challenging encounters.

It's hard to give this game a recommendation. There's a lot of creativity put into this. The idea of cards costing units of time is kinda genius, the "miracles" are an interesting way to deter small decks (but they feel a bit too oppressive later), the basic actions are a nice touch, and all of these classes (really just initial starting cards) offers some interesting variety. I love theorycrafting my deck, but i do not enjoy how this game makes you theorycraft currency. There's a chance that peasants will drop gold on the ground or souls in the air, but you only get the gold if you send a goblin to go collect it, and vacuum the souls in time before they reach the top of the screen. If the goblin doesn't make it back in time, or if you just leave gold on the ground by the time the round is over, you don't get the gold (regardless if you defeated the enemy). This forces you to incorporate collection methods into your deck, and play slower (not just demolish the enemy). So now you're alm...

It's actually pretty solid. For early access, there's very few issues — the only notable one is the sound glitching when you hover over cards during a screen change every so often. There's (hopefully) some balancing to be done as the RNG can be overly brutal at some points, but I haven't seen anything that seems like a total barrier. Most of the big plateaus in difficulty are handled by using a different deck at a lower level and leveling up. There's a lot to unlock and the gameplay is pretty engaging too.
