Literal pile of sh*t, features some of the most frustratingly tedious gameplay I've ever experienced in a survival horror game. Also this version is worse than the versions available on Epic Game Store, and the Microsoft Store version. Those versions are far better optimized, and feature a first person mode. However the Steam version was left in the dust and never updated, and has horrible frame pacing and stuttering, and doesn't feature the first person mode. Overall even with said problems I did enjoy the game, but by Chapter 10 the game becomes an exercise in frustration. As the game continually dogpiles some of the worst designed sections I've seen in a video game. I can only recommend this game if you want to be put into a state of psychosis by experiencing some of the worst survival horror gameplay available.

in the evil within, reality unravels like a fraying tapestry, exposing a world shaped not by logic, but by anguish and memory. the mind becomes the landscape—twisting corridors, decaying halls, and rooms heavy with silence all emerge from wounds too deep to heal. mirrors do not merely reflect, they invite: drawing the viewer into inner sanctums where trauma sleeps with one eye open. blood marks the walls like forgotten scripture, each stain a verse of suffering, each splash a confession. religious symbols loom not as comforts but as distortions of faith, corrupted by obsession and a hunger for power that no divine presence ever sanctioned. ruvik’s mind is not just the setting—it is the storm, a realm where control is absolute and cruelty is law. chains drag across stone like the echoes of suppressed memory; mannequins stare with vacant eyes, trapped between existence and erasure. through it all walks Sebastian, not as a hero, but as a man unraveling—grappling with grief, guilt,...
FANTASTIC game with great presentation and gameplay, if you don't mind some shitty forced chase sequences
DOGS*IT PORT, over 10 year old game and it cant even run more than 5 min before crashing
It's been at least a decade since I first experienced this game and I think of it to this day Need to play through again
The game has what i would describe as 'old game charm'. No in game map. Jankiness, at times? Yessir. Also, the game more often than not throws you into the thick of it, just deal with it 4head, make it to the exit, find the valve, where is the valve to complete the level? Look for it, while a powerful enemy is on your tail, there is no map i'll remind you, yet again. This game is clearly a passion project. The VIBES are unparalleled. The care that has been put into the characters and also into the skill tree, the variety as far as weapons are concerned. Plus this genuine scary scenes, it's great! However, the main story is confusing unless you buy the DLC's which i didnt do. That being said, i still recommend the game. Made me curious enough to buy the DLC's. This is a solid game.
Game is SICK, one of the best games ever imo. I wish they would do a 3rd and keep this series going.
you do need to fix the resolution, but after that it's a old classic.
Needs some tweaking in order to work properly, but definitely a good time for survival horror fans.
I know I'm very late, but this has to be the most offensively inoffensive game that I've ever played. It's edgy in all the wrong ways, and it was surely written to be the most formulaic and cowardly game in how it presents it's themes and mechanics. It's horror, but it's only following what others did before when it was - barely - controversial, and are here now just to check items off a list of what they thought something like this should have. It has an uninspired and samey ambience and level design all around, and the mechanics just don't feel right, from the walking and interacting with the environment to the combat and shoehorned upgrades and crafting, although all of that is probably very subjective. It revels in its mediocrity and, to me, that's the first thing any kind of media should avoid falling into. I dropped it just a few hours in, and maybe I could've been proven wrong if I had the patience to keep playing, but I really don't care enough to do so.
