The games provider retroactively changed the ToS and does not offer a way to opt out of these changes (which is illegal) - while claiming in their blog post about it, that they do offer said opt out.

Changing terms without offering a refund is a big L. Great game otherwise

I got this game because it looks like a really fun more god of war esque Soulslike. I was really looking forward to it. The game does a lot right. The issue the game has is that it is WAYYYY too long. By the time you hit the half way mark, the bosses aren't even difficult through design, but they are difficult through scaling. You are so far in the game that rather than make the enemies tough, they just make them outlast you. You can have the best build possible and the shear number of hit you have to land in order to kill them is ridiculous. The spear literally lets you stun lock enemies into virtually infinite combos as long as you have stamina. The issue is that you can hit the enemy 50 times in a row without stopping and they lose MAYBBEEE 1/20th of their health bar. I've also seen the swords damage and while its supposed to be the big hitter, it also does no damage. The game is way too long, which makes the bosses harder due to math rather than actual design. This sucks becaus...

While there are a few things this game does REALLY well and I really don't want to dismiss their merits, the sum of its parts at the end of the day vastly outweigh the limited successes. TL;DR very flawed Soulslike with poor gameplay and no identity, but an absolute visual treat for the eyes. In respect for what the game did well, I'll cover pros first: + Brilliant visuals: The art direction and the sheer quality of textures, lighting, effects, and honestly even the very detailed expressions and body language are all so incredibly well done. They even put a tremendous amount of effort into expressions and body language to really make this game come alive, and it helps build an amazing atmosphere very well. Even with the gameplay's massive shortcomings (more on that later), looking at the moves themselves and how cool they were was most of the fun. + Excellent sound design: The attacks, hits, and effects from both the player and enemies are all incredibly meaty, you can really ...

Releasing time gated content on a single player game to create FOMO is the scummiest sh1t any developer could do. You can honestly go f0ck yourselves, if i had known about this from the start, i would have never purchased your game, you f0cking POS. I'm glad it bombed, you deserve it.

Solid souls-like. Combat and bosses were excellent and make it standout from other similar games. I definitely recommend to those who enjoy difficult action RPGs.

I'll keep it short: Story/lore - 4/10 Side quests - 5/10 Enemy variety - 8/10 Soundtracks - 9/10 Level design - 6/10 Art/style - 10/10 Combat - 10/10 Boss Fights - absolute cinematic masterpieces, 10/10 Should you play it? Really depends. The story is very cliche and banal, but the combat and boss fights are so good, it overlaps the cons. Probably yes

Fuck these people. They have made a fascinating game with fun combat mechanics that just click. There must be 4 or 5 parry/counter attack options in this game. It's beautiful and runs well...but god damn they just make the fucking mobs no sell your attacks and not take stagger/damage sometimes. Lots of animation locks on your attacks where the enemy can wind up an attack before you can recover. With the Great Sword you can get a burst counter hard parry and the enemy can recover faster than your swing starts up. GS on NG is a CHORE but by NG+ its usable. If you want the easiest experience play spear.
