About This Game

You are Shin, a demon hunter with no memory of his past. After striking an unusual partnership with Lux, a demon with the ability to shapeshift into a sword and manipulate time, you begin a quest to learn what happened to you and your loved ones. Fight brutal battles against terrible demons. Explore a corrupted and dangerous world. Regain what was once yours.

Gameplay Overview
The Demon Sword, Lux, offers a wide array of utilities. Not only can she perform powerful attacks and shield you from harm, but she can also act as a platform and restore objects from the past. Use your demonic companion to survive in a desolate, demon-ridden Osaka.

As Shin defeats demons and levels up, new skills can be unlocked via the skill tree. Unlock the "Warp" skill to travel anywhere on the map or the double-jump skill to get up to higher ledges and explore new locations with ease.

But Lux isn't the only weapon in your arsenal. In addition to firearms, Shin can also wield weapons such as greatswords and whips. Experiment with a variety of armaments and create your own style of combat.

Enjoy the latest metroidvania from Team Ladybug, the team behind such acclaimed titles as "Touhou Luna Nights" and "Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth."

Explore a map far larger than past Team Ladybug projects, filled with side quests that both deepen your connection to and expand upon the world of "Blade Chimera."

The Story
It all began with the sudden appearance of a ghastly demonic horde. Humans fought against ghouls and ghosts in what would later be known as the "Demon War," and the world was changed forever.

Thirty years later, using their expertise in combating demons, a religious group called the "Holy Union" has carved out a small but stable enclave of survivors.

A really good metroid vania, a little short still good, it would benefit from a secret ending where you had to re do everything with stronger monsters or something similar in order to extend it and maybe some command input moves, other than that i really liked it.

Team Ladybug really flexed their muscles on the pixel art department here, absolutely incredible work. As a metroidvania though it’s too linear, exploration doesn’t feel satisfying and the skills you get aren’t interesting. It’s definitely a good game but it’s my least liked one out of their output

Absolutely solid Metroidvania: interesting abilities, clever secrets, and a neat plot twist I haven't seen before.

I wanted to like this after playing Team Ladybug's previous game and I was into it - I thought it felt good, looked good, sounded good. I was down for it all - I liked the setting and the gun combat. But sadly, some bad check-pointing combined with punishing and sometimes unfair platforming makes this too tedious for me to waste my time on. There are too many other good things to play. It's not good enough that I was willing to endure that friction.

I really enjoyed this one! It had all the makings of a good metroidvania and was a solid play. I hope to see this one among the other genre'd games in Archipelago.

An excellent Metroidvania with some interesting sword powers to give it a unique identity.

This was a pretty simple and straightforward Metroidvania. Nothing too difficult or complicated, and nothing missable either. If you're new to the genre, this would be great for you. It leans way more into the Castlevania side of gameplay, so players looking for a challenge may want to skip this.
