About the Game

Heat Death is a sci-fi survival game where you build, upgrade, and customize your own battle train and use it to explore and survive a frozen world! This train is not only your shelter and vehicle, but also your weapon and ally to face hostile drones, deadly storms, and hidden mysteries of an unknown world!

Build Your Train
Build your train from scratch in Heat Death. Construct structural elements such as walls, floors, and ceilings, and then install power generators, heavy weapons, drones, shields, and many other modules to your train. You can also personalize your train’s appearance and layout by selecting and arranging decals and modules.

Explore a Dynamic and Frozen World
The world of Heat Death is vast, dynamic, and unforgiving. Explore frozen lakes, mountain ranges, caves, frozen jungles, and cities where you can find loot, unlock new equipment, and discover the fate of humanity! Since you can move your base, you can explore these environments with ease!

Survive Deadly Storms
The environment itself is your first and most challenging enemy in Heat Death! Keep yourself warm during snowy storms by creating and upgrading your train or by taking shelter inside other buildings. Manage your resources such as power and food to stay alive.

Defeat Hostile Drones
In Heat Death you'll face various enemies that aim to attack and destroy your train. You can either build defensive modules such as auto-cannons, shields, and friendly drones to fight back or make your train fast enough to outrun them!

A short after you hit the Chapter 1 notice, you are going to hit a barrier that prevents you from progressing further. And with what is available to do, I don't see many resources around that you could actively just play around with and not worry about killing off the resources. So I would like to see some way of mining or gathering resources that tap into into some large or limitless resource without having to wait on the drones that are around a few of the settlements. I like building things, and if a game has an abundance of resources to just mess around with. That's what I am after from any survival building game. I will say, a few options to upgrade storage and power production wouldn't be a bad idea. The starting resource chest doesn't quite line up on the shelf, and is small. So it seems like there would be a bigger option for storage space. What with all the material that seemed like everyone who left or died just left lying around. And the radius for radiation from the re...

If they fix the incredibly stupid Reload on Train - where you have 5 seconds before you die, over and over - i will give it thumbs up.

this could be a great game if it is ever finished. Just as your getting started, the game ends. This is no more than a demo. do not purchase.

is it going anywhere? great potential here, atmospheric and some hopefully, intreaguing mysteries to uncover. looks good. i understand it is a labour of love so perhaps the next update could be grander with more going on?. it certainly needs more but as an early access game its chugging along as opposed to gaining speed right now. i hope it does not get to be another forgotten game. i really want this to succeed.

Has this game become dead in the water? Been a while since any progress has been posted. I would highly recommend this game, but only if they finish it out. Right now i'm stuck at the bio-dome with no where to go. Any progress you all?

looks like theyve decided to trash the multiplayer aspect as a single player game, it's not worth playing

Neat concept but devs seemingly abandoned it before it could be a full game, as well game is full of AI drawn assets for in game textures they don't disclose on the steam page!

I can't recommend it simply because of lack of content, after less than 6.6hrs I'm done, literally hit a barrier that says under construction and can't move forward. The resources are so finite I can't even run back and further explore things because I would run out of stam (food bar) and die over and over. If they add more content then maybe it'll be worth while I do love the idea and what is in the game it just simply isn't even enough to keep a person busy for 1 day, so not much of a game really.
