Definitely plays just like Dragon Warrior/Quest from back in the day. I was able to grind pretty quickly and become overpowered but so far it still feels enjoyable. I picked the game up when it first came out so it was a couple of bucks off and I feel like that's just right for an RPGMaker game like this. I'll update this when I finish. Update: The game ended well and the story flowed as expected. I think the dev did a fine job of making a Dragon Warrior clone. A few criticisms/suggestions: -Have save games stored in the Steam Cloud or at least in something common such as Documents in the user's profile. That way, even if it's not in the Steam Cloud, my OneDrive sync will carry my save games between my computer. -Increase the difficulty of later dungeons. Maybe have a definite order to where you can't get into the Death Dragon's Lair until you defeat the character that is cursed by him (no spoilers). -Don't allow such cheap perma-stat increases from the herbalist. Really fun game. Reminds me of Dragon Warrior on NES back in the day. If you play a while you'll have a good mix of storyline progressing and frustrating deaths. Save often with multiple save files especially after important events (leveling up, storyline items, etc).
This felt like fresh nostalgia, oddly enough. It struck a good mix of the original Final Fantasy 1 but with faster travel/combat and whimsical story elements. It made for a fun playthrough.
