I hate this game. I hate this game because I loved it. Let me explain. This game is not a game, it's a choose your own adventure story disguised as kind of a game. The consequences of your decisions change the game enough to be satisfying. So what's wrong with it? Everything else. The controls (I was using a gamepad) are terrible, the actual mechanics are not even real mechanics, to the point I wish that this was just a straight up visual novel style game. The phaser scenes are so annoying, I wanted to rage quit. A lot of it is just timed sequences where you have to press a combination of buttons on a timer that's super slow. The game is missing animations, it's janky, it's glitchy, it's a total mess. So why the positive review you ask? because, the story was amazing. It's Star Trek through and through, and the entertainment factor and experience this game gives you (through the story) makes me miss the good old days of Star Trek. If you're a Star Trek fan, you owe it to yourself ...

Decent episode of Star Trek, so might be worth a play if you are a fan. Sadly the ending is rather unsatisfying, as it barely resolves any of the important plot points. And unskippable cut-scenes and conversations are really not acceptable anymore in this day and age. Really could have used some extra time so the game wouldn't feel like a cheap console port.

Graphics from 2010, gameplay from 2005... but ... storytelling like in 1990. This game is like a full ST:TNG season, and I love everything about it.

Check minimal requirements, especially the GPU. The game would crash at start-up for me all the time.

After some lackluster Telltale-like games lately (The Expanse, New Tales from the Borderlands) I had my fair share of reservations about this game, especially looking at the somewhat dated graphics presented on the store page. What I expected was some clunky mess with a generic lackluster story, barely worth playing, but hey, I'm a sucker for Telltale stuff, so why not. Boy, was I wrong. If there is a (movie) franchise for which the Telltale formula was invented, it's Star Trek. Or maybe it's just that the game is simply great. Star Trek: Resurgence is 100% Star Trek TNG content. The devs absolutely nailed the mood and feeling. I simply couldn't stop playing it. The story kept me entertained throughout, it nicely ties in with one specific TNG episode and sort of elevates it after nearly four decades. The characters could have made it to the show anytime, all well written and developed. The whole game is a big cinematic experience, with an above average amount of gameplay for a Telltal...

Made for fans of Star Trek. Feels like trek from the TNG, DS9, VOY era. Better writing than most of the new trek shows.

Great game if you love Star Trek but go in expecting a TellTale game because that's what it is. I loved it and can't wait for a sequel or DLC with more polish bug wise.

As a trekie I really wanted to like this game. A lot of Star Trek games are huge crew management ship battle type games which isn't my thing, so a story based game that focuses on a single crew and their adventures seemed great! Unfortunately this game looks like it was made in 2005, not 2023, and runs terribly despite that. Games do not have to have super high fidelity graphics or perfect lip syncing, but what is done should be done well, and this was not. I didn't play super long because while walking down one of the beginning corridors in the bay on my way in I watched one NPC float several inches off the ground in a very unnatural stare blankly forward pose doing... literally nothing, and saw another npc in the exact same pose standing the opposite way but this time his shoes were inside the deck plates. A very obvious trigger in the floor made him wave like a roblox character and greet me enthusiastically before going back to staring blankly ahead. Star fleet crew are always...

This game really felt like a Star Trek game, and it was a good fit for the Telltale style of gameplay through making choices. However, I choose not to recommend the game because there's a broken achievement. This might seem like a silly reason to say No, but it's sloppy to leave this bug there. It should be an easy fix since this it works on other platforms, and they've known about it for over a year, but they've gone silent. This game has been abandoned by the devs without fixing it, and that's why I say don't buy.
