Geekbench 3

Sadly disappointed with buying this for £10.99. I had (wrongly) assumed that for this money there would be a good selection of features, tools and tests. There are several FREE utilities out there which offer much greater value for money! If the developer decides to increase Geekbench 3's capabilities then I will rewrite my review.

EDIT: If you really want to know why this seems so antiquated, it's simple: they're STILL selling a version that's TWO VERSIONS behind. V5 is on their site, while V3 is here on Steam. A $15 software package that looks like freeware. There are, at the time of this writing, four benchmarking programs: 3DMark, PCMark, Catzilla, and this. I've got all 4. 3DMark is the gold standard for gaming benchmarks. Catzilla is good and has some unique features (such as comparing benchmarks to what's expected for popular games) and PCMark is great for general benchmarks for everyday or work use. This just seems extremely bare-bones in comparison. If you want the features in this program, save yourself the expense, and download the free version of PCMark; it lacks a few of the features of the paid-for version, but does everything this program does, only better.

When you want to compare your CPU against something else, this offers a ton statistics on how other processors stack against what you're using.

I love this program. I get to benchmark my mac, pc and linux machines. It donest work with steamos that well but its cool. For the price a cross platform bench mark I ok it not working on steamos. I love the price, its not like pcmark.

Stream version is an old build and they didn't update and they don't provide key to use on the stand alone version.

It only benchmarks the CPU? If it does more, its not intuitive. If that's all it does, what a let down.

The version on Steam is not updated. Now they have 3.4.4 version on the website but in here is only 3.4.1 The bad thing is that no license key is linked so you cannot download the newest GB3 and put your license bought over here.
