About This Game

Have you ever wanted to be an adorable, sticky ball of soot climbing its way out of a fireplace? Well now you can.

Sut is a cute, minimalist, pixel art 2D platformer with a satisfying wall-sticking mechanic. It rides the line between cozy and difficult. Sure, there's enemies to fight, lava to fall into, and spikes to jump over. Yes, you'll encounter challenges, you may even die. You may die a lot. But you're a cute little ball of soot, and you have all the time in the world to find your way out.

Features include:
  • Beat more than 49 levels! (50 levels. It has 50 levels.)
  • Stick to walls, leap over spikes, and blow enemies into harm's way
  • Skip any level if you get stuck
  • Track your progress through the level menu

  • Learn from your recent mistakes thanks to semi-persistent corpses
  • Listen to a custom, original soundtrack with ten songs done in a retro/chip-tune style
  • See how quickly you can beat each level using the built in timer
  • Enjoy lovingly crafted pixel art and animations
  • Save poor little Sut from a lifetime of suffering inside of a burning hot fireplace
  • You wouldn't just let Sut suffer, would you?

Sut is very charming retro platformer game that feels kind of like a more chill or down-to-earth version of Super Meat Boy or perhaps a more relaxed paced Celeste. It is simpler than either of those games and has a significantly different kind of gameplay feeling too. Sut definitely feels less hectic and I really like that it fills that niche in a way that other stick-to-walls games don't quite express the distinctive way that Sut does. So "super chill retro Super Meat Boy" would be a fair description of it. The game also does a lot with just a handful of gameplay elements and the level design really exercises those gameplay elements in a diverse variety of ways that keep you on your toes. I also really liked how the combat is partially environment based and often makes you think in advance about how to properly set up a good attack strategy and cadence of movement. The levels are fairly consistently challenging and I had a lot of fun with it. Sut has a special charm to it that's ha...

This is a charming little performer made by an excellent human being. Unless you absolutely hate platformers I'm certain you'll get your 99 cents worth.

Gone are the days when fast food menus tantalized us with the holy grail of dining deals: the value meal. Yes, those glorious bundles of joy that married burgers, fries, and a drink in a union so perfect, it made dollar bills weep with joy. It seems modern fast food chains have tossed value meals into the deep fryer of history, leaving us to navigate a la carte mazes, where a side of fries costs as much as a small treasure chest. In this brave new world of "create your own combo," where the closest thing to a bargain is accidentally dropping a fry into your lap and finding it later, we seek solace elsewhere. Alas, in a moment of hunger-induced weakness, I scoured the digital realm for something, anything, that resembled the value of yore. And what did I find? A game for 99 cent (USD). No, it didn't satisfy my craving for a two-handed burger or whisper sweet nothings about calorie counts into my ear. Instead, it offered a different kind of value, a value in fun. In the grand scheme o...

I WON!!! Two thumbs up. Fun, retro arcade-y feeling platformer. Banging soundtrack. Pretty well designed. Lots of variety with limited mechanics, obstacles, and enemies. Expected it get repetitive. But, the levels kept me in engaged and interested. Had a lot more content and levels than I expected. The mechanics are simple. However, they have a nice level of depth to them too. One interesting take on this game is that the enemies are the collectibles. Finding out how to kill them is a puzzle in itself. That's being said, I wish there was more of an award or acknowledgement for collecting all of them per level and the game as a whole. Took about 3 hr to 100%. Listen to his podcast (Game, Develop, Repeat). Learned he finally released his game and tried it out. I like it! If you like retro 2D platformers, I highly recommend Sut! P.S. I'm open to discuss game dev and more feedback if you like. :) (I'm a fellow game dev)

Sut is easily the best $.99 game I've ever played. The levels are intentionally created, thoughtfully designed, and elicit a crack like addiction that is hard to shake although it does give you the shakes when you stop playing. Pay attention to this developer, there's no doubt that there's lot's of cool things coming!

Sut is evil. It's vile. Rude... mean... tries to beat you down. Sometimes seems downright impossible... ...and I love it.

Play this if you're into hard platforming games that are punishing but rewarding once you reach the goal. This game channels serious The End is Nigh vibes. Play it and enjoy!

Pretty fun platformer that isn't super complex but is still very enjoyable with a good amount of levels. The controls take a sec to get used to, but after that you're golden. The soundtrack is pretty good too.
