The calm era is over────── One after another, new souls cry out their birth.
Tokyo Xtreme Racer is back, somehow the community at large accepted it - and many updates later it is now thriving. This is such a breath of fresh air in today's racing game landscape after being absent for so long. Hit the streets of Tokyo at night, challenge other drivers to short races, head back to your garage to tune your vehicle, and get back out there until your soul finds the answers it seeks. A great game to chill out to late at night, and you will always want to do 'one more race'. The game comes in at under 8GB and plays at a solid 60fps on Steam Deck with low settings at full resolution. On Rog Ally X you can comfortably play on the high setting. It looks gorgeous on the Steam Deck's OLED display.

As someone who has never played the OG games, I can say that this game is great. It's an excellent arcade racer set on a Tokyo highway system. You can race literally any car that you see. You'll spend most of your time in this game going very fast. There are turns and corners but for the most part you'll be going top speed down a straight highway. The car selection is bigge than I expected it to be! It is an early access game so keep that in mind, but for being early access the game feels extremely polished. I have yet to encounter a single bug, glitch, or crash. Graphically it is very impressive as well, and there are tons of customization options to make your car look and perform like an absolute machine. Overall, this is well worth your time and money, especially if you enjoy arcade racers like Need for Speed, Forza Horizon, and CarX. One thing to note: You will be racing exclusively at night time.
The gameplay loop is fun, but I hope the developers come up with some special ideas for the endgame to add a bit more variety.
Street racers on the Shuto Expressway now fear my name. I love this game so much. The atmosphere, graphics, car customization, & game play are all addictive to me. I look forward to the new stages.
Alot of fun and very welcoming surprise in a sometimes stale world of racing games. Great music, awesome cars, awesome map and the return of a legendary game series what else could you ask for :D
FINALLY A good racing game i actually enjoy playing. if you hesitated to buy this game. don't be, you WONT regret it
very fun game so far. hoping to play the full version upon release and hoping for some quality of life improvements.
just like the good ol days. no problem with early access content so far. everything feels complete to me. only negative is they added perks that make the game easier, just don't buy them.
🏁 Gameplay & Mechanics - SP Battle System: Races use the classic Spirit Point (SP) mechanic—each driver has a health bar that depletes when trailing behind. It’s more like a fighting game than a traditional racer, and it still works brilliantly. - Quest Mode: The only mode available in Early Access, Quest Mode tasks players with defeating rival teams across three story arcs. Flash your headlights to initiate a race, win to earn credits and battle points, and unlock new cars and perks. - Customization & Progression: Players can upgrade cars with performance parts, visual mods, and perks. A skill tree adds depth, allowing racers to tailor their driving style and unlock bonuses like nitrous or tire upgrades. 🌆 World & Atmosphere - Shuto Expressway: The game features over 180 km of Tokyo’s iconic highway network, populated with more than 200 rivals. Parking areas serve as hubs for scouting opponents and tuning vehicles. - Visuals & Sound: The game channels PS2-era aesthetics w...
Damn this game actually looks fire and the driving feels pretty good. Please add MORE vinyls. And more neon options. And more customization in general. Maybe even more cars. Also, if this had first person driving, it could completely drive the game Night Runners out of business.
