Game's abandoned, buggy, and has several parts that need to be redesigned. As many others have said, upgrades dont feel like they do anything, all primary attacks feel the same, and i feel like several aspects are TOO random, you go into a run and say "i wanna try a lightning build" and not see anything relevant the entire game, pretty much all elements are the same anyway. The META strategy is to walk in a circle in every map, all enemies pathfind directly to you, not trying to cut you off, or anything beyond go forward and smack, so unless an enemy spawns directly ontop of you, you dont really take damage on the normal stages, the developers tried to solve this by adding more enemies, so that theres more of a chance of them spawning ontop of you, but its still not great The bosses solve this by being impossible to dodge, The first boss for example that has an attack that throws rocks everywhere around them, if the hitboxes matched the rocks, then sure, itd be fine, but the hitboxe...

About This Game

Gameplay is based on 20-40 minutes runs with the ability to loop endlessly. Each run brings new spells, abilities and modifiers, making each playthrough a brand new experience. Choose unique combinations and upgrades for your mage and perfect your build in order to reach new heights.
As your adventure continues, you’ll uncover challenging boss fights, each with their own unique abilities and loot to unlock. Meet mysterious creatures throughout the world of ShadowVille and explore its secrets, all the while regaining your power.

Team up with your friends in this challenging adventure. Each of you will be able to choose your own path in magic. Become a powerful fire mage or combine elements to get unexpected reactions - it's up to you. Combine spells to maximize your power and try to escape from this time trap. But remember the bigger your team, the more difficult challenges await you.

The source of the cat mage’s magic lies in seven core elements: air, dark, fire, frost, lightning, nature, and water. With your knowledge and abilities, you can unlock powers beyond these primary elements, creating unique combinations to unleash new attacks.
Shoot catastrophic fireballs, whisk monsters away in a whirlwind, or summon all-consuming spheres of water. Tailor your attacks as you learn your enemies’ weaknesses as you prepare to take on the final boss.

In addition to elements, you can use spells like any other mage. As you progress, you will get more and more unique spells with different power and effect. Summon a black hole that attracts all enemies, cast a meteor shower that burns everything in its path, or turn a huge enemy into a small, harmless sheep. Spells also possess one of the seven elements that will allow you to combine more elements and get more unexpected effects.

Felix Lunnoson, Adrian's oldest student, finds a lost magical artifact, the Sphere of Outcasts, and uses it to imprison his teacher in a time dungeon. Adrian, who finds himself in the ShadowVillie world, recreates his castle with his last strength, but is deprived of his magic. The player as Adrian explores the roguelike world of ShadowVillie, destroys bosses to unlock magiс powers, meets creatures with unique set of abilities, and strives to return to the real world by unlocking ShadowVillie's secrets and mastering elements to restore his former power.

Game hasn't had an update nor words from the dev for months now, feels like another abandoned project. It's barely playable with some janky hitboxes, needs a lot of polishing in the art department and spells balancing. Sad because we picked it up with my partner and it seemed to have some promise.
Even thou i dont like roguelikes that much, it was fun to play this one
I was really looking forward to a game that could rival other roguelikes such as Risk of Rain 2 or Gunfire reborn, but unfortunately, Arcane Blast does not do its job very well. Upgrades in the game feel very useless, the only upgrades that seem to change anything are the spells, and secondary fire upgrades. Any upgrade to your dash doesn't seem very useful as you almost never see the effects of what your dash attack did, or if it even hit the enemies. The primary fire upgrades show very little to no changes besides changing the color of your shots. While yes, the new element on your primary is applied to enemies, the elemental changes are very small, and with so many enemies surrounding you at all times, it's hard to see what's actually working for you. On the topic of enemies, the game is extremely overwhelming with them. On the first run I played, I didn't know what to expect, the game only gave a very basic movement/attacking tutorial. This is normal in roguelikes, but then I was...
A cute little game that kinda feels like one of those good game jam games that got some more polish and features then got released on steam. It has one of those really neat element systems where you can combine elements to make more powerful elements and its kinda fun to play around with. You get to be a cat with magical powers and you can even play with your friends. Not a bad little game but there is a bit more to be desired to make this game really shine. Id say this game needs two things to really shine in my book of replayability. First is most important. It needs enemies that scale up in power and number over time so I can continue to test my ever growing strength! Second, id love to have a way to expand my spell book to have more than 2 spells so I could become the avatar and master all 7 base elements! By new game + 3, I will have tornadoes of darkness while flooding the map with frozen rain imbued with electricity and fire. Somehow nature will fit in there and hold my enemies...
