Can no longer recommend. I used to have no issues running this game at 75+ FPS, maybe 50+ FPS minimum if there was an abundance of enemies/spells on-screen. Through recent changes and updates, this is no longer the case; loading screens now take upwards of a minute between areas, and I'm lucky to get 30 FPS in cities like Bruma or Bravil. I believe this is primarily due to a compatibility issue with a recent Nvidia graphics driver update, but I don't care anymore. I'm so sick of modern PC gaming. It's like 60% fixing the asinine changes made by developers working with a bloated engine, and damned if it screws your gameplay experience in the process. If it runs well at some point, it should continue to run well. Why is this so hard for these so-called "AAA" game studios?

Back in 2006, I bought the PC physical version at my local games store (and still have the box!). Played like crazy, and obviously, as you know with my videos, modded as hell. Now, we're in 2025, and Oblivion Remastered released. I've still got the feeling from that time, and even some memories came back. But be warned because, the visuals are modern, Oblivion Remastered remains the same game from 2006, with 2006 old mechanics. People complained about long loading times in Starfield but this is even worse here. Anyways, if you can overcome that, Oblivion Remastered is one of the best RPGs made. Plenty of quests, items, builds, etc... 96 hours on Steam and I didn't finish yet! And as you know, Unreal Engine 5 has pretty disastrous performance, so Oblivion Remastered will suffer. At least, a patch to improve performance is planned (in beta state as I write this small review). One advice, play with mods. There are a ton right now and you can play Oblivion Remastered with a lot...
The same buggy mess I loved 15 years ago. Totally worth. Just don't fall for the Deluxe edition scam. Buy the basic one and enjoy. the horse armor meme exists for a reason.
> enter a cave > shoot a goblin with an arrow > the game crashes > reload the game > shoot a goblin with an arrow > the game crashes > reload the game > shoot a goblin with an arrow > the game crashes > refund
Look how they massacred my boy... The game is unplayable right now! Performance is terrible, crashes are constant, and the AI is completely broken.
My game was playing great until this last update we had in July 2025. Then it started to crash every time I went to load my game. I had to restart my game to get it to work and in doing so lost 24 hours of gameplay. That being said, it's a great remaster. I've been having a blast with it. It plays really well on the Steam Deck. I just wish that update didn't screw up my other game ☠️
i hate i fell for the nostalgia bait. this game is such a hot pile of ass and i would suggest u not buy it. orig oblivion is more fun, more stable, has more mods, and has real swag.
I just can't bring myself to recommend this game. Oblivion was such a huge part of my childhood so I was super excited to play the remaster but the constant crashing really makes this unplayable. I've had a couple of good runs but the frustration I've had having to troubleshoot/restart the game after every crash outweighs the fun I had playing it, unfortunately. The most recent crash managed to crash my PC so hard it appears to have removed bluetooth capability (???). Anyway, save yourself the anguish and give this one a miss, folks.
Played the game for 30+ hours (albeit with poor performance, on a high performance PC) and after the latest update it crashes regularly and is essentially unplayable. Don't buy.
i hate this game because its a cash grab and they couldnt even optimize it loading screens take way too long and everyone in the game looks uglier than they did in the original this is the worst game ive ever played
