About This Game

Punch zombies. Fill your shopping list. Race to checkout before your rivals—or the clock—takes you out.

Checkout Blitz: The Shopping Dead is an arcade-style roguelite where you’re a courier shopper ripping through zombie-infested aisles. Each chaotic run drops you into a new store layout packed with hazards, power-ups, and absurd shopping lists.

Play solo, partner up in co-op, or clash in versus mode. Level up your shopper class, unlock new upgrades, and turn mundane retail into mayhem.

Easy to pick up. Chaotic to master. Just don’t forget: dead shoppers don’t get refunds.

Features

  • Arcade Roguelike Mayhem – Every run is different: random stores, item lists, hazards, and enemy spawns keep you on your toes.

  • Punch-First Shopping – Fend off zombies, dodge traps, and knock out rival players to finish your list first.

  • 3 Game Modes – Play solo, share a list in co-op, or race to win in versus mode. (Controller/Gamepad required for local multiplayer)

  • Shopper Class Progression – Level up through 5 shopper ranks with permanent upgrades.

  • Earn. Upgrade. Repeat. – Your shopper rank persists across runs, unlocking higher stats and bigger payouts.

  • Power-Ups & Pickups – Unlock boosts like speed carts, cash multipliers, and weird gimmicks.

  • Full Gamepad Support – Optimized for couch play with local co-op and versus modes.

  • Achievements & Replay Value – Unlock ridiculous milestones and chase high scores with randomized runs.

  • Retro Flair – Vibrant vector-pixel visuals, snappy soundtrack, and arcade-style presentation.

It's fun and addicting! I bought it the night it came out and played until almost 2 am LOL oops. It's kind of hard at first but if you get past the first boss, you get a gun which makes things easier. I would definitely recommend it to others. I realized when I went to play that my batteries in my controller were dead LOL so I played on a a PC keyboard and it wasn't too bad. There are some games where you really can't do that at all but this was still fun.

It is an arcade style game with a goofy and fun premise. Once you fill out your shopping list you are free to move on to the next section so you can preserve your time. There are a variety of things to keep track of especially on the harder difficulty. This is where the core mechanics shine more as you are trying to prioritize your list, kill enemies, and survive. The hitboxes feel a bit unforgiving but you can start a game back up quickly.

Anytime zombies are involved i'm automatically in! This game did not disappoint! First of all, I love the art and animation it definitely caught AND kept my attention. The sound and music gives me a nostalgic retro feel, and I love the pop-culture references! I did start out playing on keyboard and was having trouble getting started, but turns out it was just "user error" oops! I have played on both controller and keyboard and all is well! (I definitely prefer to play it on controller). Blitz is fun, and thanks for keeping the realism of having to look at my shopping list to check what else I missed! /sarcasm LOL! Also! Don't let tunnel vision get you! Keep an eye on the timer! Get this game! It's so much fun and i'm addicted!

I've already finished 5 runs and I like that type of parallel evolution that dev implemented from "old but gold" concept. Art and voice acting work together in a decent way. Gameloop and gameplay are also good, but I died maybe 20 times before I've realized that I should jump AND dash above the mall cart (That's totally on me x)
