About This Game

Story

Six Meat Under takes place in an alternate universe in North Dakota during the summer of 1986. You are a front gate security officer on their first day of the job at the Kurzmann Laboratory, a research center focusing on medical innovations and pharmaceuticals through their discoveries in the meat pit. Oh yeah there's a giant meat pit, in case you didn't notice. Your first day turns into a nightmare when you are told to do the one thing you're not supposed to do: jump into the pit! From then on it is a grueling battle to destroy the pit. It won't be easy as there are creatures down there, none of them friendly.

Gameplay

Six Meat Under (6MU) is a first-person, medium-pace, horror, shooter. At the start of the game you get a flashlight and a pistol (with unlimited ammo of course). As you progress through the game, you will encounter many enemies, puzzles, and even some lore. You also will find additional weapons to assist you on the enemies ahead. Your goal: to destroy the pit, a huge task for just one person, but not impossible.

6MU was inspired by the Mystery Flesh Pit National Park internet archive by Trevor Roberts, so huge thanks to him!

I'm first to write a review on this game to be honest i had low expectations but this blends horror and a shooter very well into one. Good Boss fights good music good meaty body horror. The only con is the games short i hope you make more games like this longer it was good the story was horror b movie style but done perfect shooting while the music roles is awesome! like said my only dislike too short and i wanted more story more audio logs to listen too but happy with pricing and for your first game on steam i'd you did great.

It is a shame this game is not receiving an ounce of the attention it deserves, because it is indeed very fun, very well done, and above all very very creative and original. I was drawn to this game by the statement on the store page that declares that it is inspired, no less, by the Mystery Flesh Pit National Park internet archive of Trevor Roberts, a sort of creepypasta that, personally, I love. If you, like me, are a fanatic of science-fiction and Lovecraft, I recommend you go immediately check this archive, because it is truly mind-blowing! But the point is, I believed I already knew what I was going to see in this game, I expected a sort of Half Life 1, more or less. But then I was surprised by an incredible mix of very different videogame genres, all cleverly merged together into a perfectly coherent horror experience. The game starts off as a sort of job simulator, but then it soon takes a completely different direction, and afterwards it does that again, and again, and again. I...

enjoyable game that is well designed and the only problem I had was the game lagging at the final boss fight with everything going on https://youtu.be/3bDvvRoSTrA?si=uHjWkfd1YnXa9JZN

interesting game that starts as a security booth attendant for a facility with a giant flesh hole pit thing in its courtyard. So through one reason or another you end up jumping into the hole and your adventure through the fleshy caves begins. The levels have a somewhat formulaic approach with some being lore based with a handful of sentry style enemies that you can snipe easily with your pistol (unlimited ammo on all guns is a massive plus too), and some being “boss fight” style with usually a somewhat elaborate “Do X Y Times”. Although it does feel like your going from boss fight to boss fight at times with lots of notes and the odd puzzle in between, the game is just a blast to play through, yes you can finish it all in around 2 and it is a little on the expensive side for such a short game but it’s a solid 2 hours and I loved it.

very cool body horror fps. not a long game by any means, but the story really drew me in, the gameplay was serviceable & the music was actually waay better than expected. The boss fights were great, the fish guy was my personal fav. hated that simon says puzzle though

Gameplay starts off like Security Booth where you're checking badges and trying to determine who to let in and who to keep out. This section doesn't seem to have any bearing on the game, and seems like it can be skipped almost immediately, but it has some decent story setup and atmosphere. The rest of the game is a pretty basic FPS with some pretty basic puzzle minigames but it's mostly pretty well made. I did get stuck in the environment and killed during a boss fight. I enjoyed my time with it for a short horror game. Can be completed in around an hour.

Not an amazing game by any means, but it has a surprising charm in its short runtime. The bosses are pretty fun though it definitely could have used more bosses that aren't choreographed setpieces. But what is here is neat. The weapons feel good, the atmosphere is pretty decent. The music was also quite good. If this game has any issue it's that it feels like it's over by the time it starts ramping up, but honestly with how short the game is that isn't a huge deal.
