About This Game
GunDeck[100] is a twin-stick shooter where the aim of the game is to conquer 100 levels of bullet hell.
Amass a ring of guns and blow off fireworks of elemental crystals that come in your choice of corrosive acid, freezing ice, eagle-eye homing, replicating magic, and sledge-hammer blight.
After each wave, choose from three dealt cards to add to your growing deck. But choose wisely! These cards will grant you new weapons, power up your shots, earn you companions, curse your enemies— or even curse you! (For a fair trade, of course…) Build yourself a powerful gun deck, or regret it when you meet…
…the ten big bad bosses that stand between you and the eponymous level. Not only do you get your pick of extra special cards for defeating them, you’ll earn yourself new ships with built-in features that change the way you play entirely. (One Gun Run, anyone?)

Love the soundtrack, cool bullet hell game with upgrades and lots of enemy types!
Fun game, love the aesthetic. I like that it's snappy and I can quickly fire it up and play for a bit when I have pockets of free time (I'm not very good yet, so a run never takes me long, lol). I also like the progression of unlocking new ships; I doubt I'll ever be good enough at the game to unlock them all, but there's always a chance and that's why it's fun to come back and keep trying! One thing I found myself hoping for was the ability to access the options menu from within a run. Maybe the option was there and I was overlooking it, but I kept ending my run early to return to the main menu and adjust the audio and accessibility options there. It's not a huge deal now that it's all dialed in, but I still think it would be a nice feature to have. Again, love the game! I suck at it, but still enjoy it. Definitely worth the price.
must try twin-stick shooter. awsome game!
This game has absolutely no buisness being this good. It transports you to a simple world with impeccable vibes whose gameplay, progression, and vibe are tight as all hell.
Needs more choice mechanics. Having only 3 choices, but 5 different elements, a variety of gun shapes, and abilities that you actively *do not want* makes leveling up not very enjoyable. Having guns with wildly different shooting patterns makes targeting in between each shot basically pointless. Feels more like you are getting random powerups than you are picking ones to make a build. Not really my kind of game.
GunDeck[100] is challenging, but feels beatable so I keep coming back after each failed run. The RNG aspect is what makes the game very replayable because each run has different drops and a different order of enemies. I keep coming back, hoping to get the perfect drops that fit my playstyle and can allow me to beat all of the levels. My least favorite aspect of the game are the rounds that start immediately. There are times where I have been hit immediately after selecting a drop. It may be part of the challenge, but I still find it very annoying when it happens. One feature that would be nice to have is summary of the boosts/stats that you've picked up. The deck icons help, but the stats each drop provides isn't always equal and there are times when I would like to know where I'm at with just a glance.
Guns, Rotation, Rogues, Fun

Three Card Monty That Changes the Arenalike Experience
This game is definitely what I call, an Arenalike, but it does come with some very cool experiences that games like Slay the Spire have (mainly the choice system after clearing a wave). It's not just luck of the draw, but the skill to maneuver in a cramped arena to proceed forward. A cool spin on an existing genra.
Simple, Yet Effective
This game doesn't do anything groundbreaking, but what it has, it does it well. Cool particle effects, some funky tunes and simple character and enemy designs works well with something like this.
The Ceiling to The Floor
The game isn't too hard to learn and with it being really, really tough at the upper end of the experience, There's not a whole lot more i care to talk about without spoining some of the expereince.
TL:DR
Like Arenalikes, Got Skill to make it happen, Don't mind the lack of extravagant flair for a simp...
Just ain't it
This game is so much fun! The controls are responsive, it works great on the Steam Deck, and the gameplay is very satisfying. I’ve only played a little bit so far but I already love it. If you enjoy bullet hell games, decision making in your upgrades, or being able to make crazy builds with lots of different upgrades, passive abilities, and stacking bonuses, get this! Literally my only con so far is that there aren’t many achievements. There are 10 playable ships, all with their own unique starting bonuses that do affect the gameplay to some degree. The characters won’t change the core gameplay much, but they have different focuses and starting stats, and some start with unique abilities that encourage you to play differently than on other characters. Edit: the developer has actively addressed the few issues I had with the game, and continues to tweak things to be a better experience. More ships have been added, more achievements, and endless mode, and more fun perks and up...
