Fallen Down

This is a super cute VN that also comes with a whole game! All the art and character models are adorable and the story is a really wholesome fantasy adventure with a huge cast. The writing is funny and sweet and there is a ton of worldbuilding. I think it's connected to the dev's other game Unyielding which I haven't played but I definitely want to try now! The game is pretty hard. There is a LOT of stuff to learn and I think the learning curve is kinda steep. I think it would be great if you could get hints in combat or even skip fights because I really want to progress the story but I get stuck for a long time on fights! There is also no tutorial in arcade mode so make sure you start with story.

This game is a huge step up from the previous entry in the series. The gameplay and visuals are way more polished than its predecessor. At first I was here only for Arcade Mode, but I gave Story Mode a try and I liked what I saw. It features some stunning pieces of art and the story is pretty engaging. It has a bigger scope than Unyielding, which can be a positive or a negative depending on what you like in a story. There's so many characters that you're very likely to like some of them, but it also means that screen time is split between more people, so depending on your favorite characters you might yearn for more. I especially liked some of the optional story events, like the lake filled with dead fish. The conclusion of that mini-arc gave me a good chuckle. The Black Knight is the funniest character don't @ me. Great art, and I really enjoyed the tactical card gameplay. Character personalities were charming, and I liked how they even showed up in fights, The map changes to not block the camera, which seems like a neat idea.

Fun strategy game! Gear gives you skills, and your turn and the enemies turns are interwoven, so you have to predict what the enemy will do in between all your turns.

Fallen Down is a very fun game mixing card games, RPG gearing, and Tactics style combat. The arcade mode has a lot of replayability to offer, and I am looking forward to taking my time in the story mode.
