Killer is Dead - Nightmare Edition

Objectively the coolest game ever made paired with objectively the worst PC port ever made.

An objectively bad port. Even the basics of menu navigation are borked and make the game itself nigh impossible to enjoy.

This is probably one of the better Suda51 PC ports, but it still requires you to go into the files to fix the game crashing on the second stage so it's not exactly a high bar. Killer is Dead is... a lot to take in for someone who's only experience with Suda51 before was the Lollipop Chainsaw remaster. This game is bizarre as it is nonsensical. By the third stage I'm experiencing Alice in Wonderland parallels involving this lady who has an alien parasite inside her placed inside her by a man named David who lives on the moon, who would definitely run out on the road and get hit by a car while trying to get his ball. I've not played the rest of Suda's works, but this was definitely a good indication of what I was getting into tonally. This is a game where there's side missions involving gawking at women and it plays like a FNaF game. As far as hack and slash games go, this is definitely up there for me. The game is literally unplayable. Crashing at the same spot every time. No youtube fixes help either. Major disappointment because its the only Suda game i havnt played.

the game has a really bad audio glitch where whenever someone starts speaking it fully cuts out.

As a standalone entry this game is good enough (albeit weak for a Suda51 game), the problems lie in how much troubleshooting is needed to make it actually enjoyable If you've played Devil May Cry 4 it's basically that level of gameplay minus some polish Story is kind of forgettable but Mondo stays aura farming. If you're down to tweak some notepad files and crash a couple of times I'd say grab it on sale

So much style and not a whole lot of substance, which I personally love. If you're a patient gamer who loves character action games with style I highly recommend this game.
