About This Game

When life robs Colton White of all that matters, the only thing left he can trust is his GUN. From award-winning developer, Neversoft, and accomplished screenwriter, Randall Jahnson (The Mask of Zorro, The Doors), GUN follows Colton on his quest for discovery as he seeks to exact vengeful justice on those who have wronged him. GUN is a realistic epic action/adventure that lets gamers experience the brutality of the lawless West.
  • New and savage ways to punish: Stealthily sneak up and attack your enemies, use them as cover, stab and shoot them. Blast away and watch the aftermath, shoot guns out of enemy hands, or destroy with dynamite.
  • Extensive variety of missions and game play: Wage war on horseback, commandeer trains, protect prostitutes, collect bounties, play poker, hunt buffalo, and more. Multiple game play styles include: precision shooting, stealth tactics, and use of explosives. Embark on numerous side missions that allow you to master gun slinging and horse riding. Unlock secret weapons and upgrade your skills and abilities to improve your weapon and equipment performance.
  • Brutal realism: Act as a gunslinger protecting righteousness, or seek retribution as you face corrupt lawmen, warring tribes, cold-blooded outlaws, and ruthless renegades. Encounter legendary gunfighters such as JJ Webb. Employ a multitude of authentic weapons including: Six shooters, shotguns, Gatling guns, flaming arrows, hatchets, dynamite, and more.
  • Expansive interactive world: Play an extensive variety of exciting missions as you journey west across the new frontier. Ride on horseback through the scenic, yet dangerous Western terrain of canyons, mountains, plains, forests, gold mines and towns.

An oldie but a goodie. The grandfather of RDR and RDR2. Plays well on modern systems, although I recommend downloading both the 60fps patch and the widescreen patch which you can find here in the Steam guides, since they make the experience much more pleasant. Other than that, if you like western stories and don't mind dated graphics, you're certainly going to enjoy this game.

an incredible tale about a cowboy named colton white who's on a hunt for a lost city made of gold, this game is geniunely incredible, its open world, has great quests, different weapons and enemies and an insane storyline, sometimes its easy, sometimes its hard but this is probably the best wild west game ive ever played, id say even better than red dead redemption

If you liked Red Dead Redemption 1 / 2, wanted more, but are ok with 2008 graphics and control jank appropriate for that time, give this game a look. I enjoyed the story pretty well. About 5-6 hrs long, plus optional side quests.

Worth playing for nostalgia reasons, and fine as an early exploration into open-world shooters, but has a small map and other limits compared to modern titles in the genre. The plot is gritty, and includes unflinching violence, sexism, and racism (but although the game portrays these things, that does not mean to say that the game promotes them). Culturally, the game was successful at opening a dialogue about problematic history that had been glossed over in the past. By having the protagonist change allegiances between colonial and native powers, we at least get some exposure to the idea that the "good guys" simply aren't that from another perspective. However, some stereotypes persist, the Chinese immigrants are not given a voice, and you will see some offensive content. There are plenty of things to call out in your cultural studies thesis. In a way, the fact that the game is culturally outdated is a good sign that we're making social progress. Did I enjoy the game when it c...

One of my favorite games of all time. The atmosphere and story and soundtrack are crazy good for a title that never went big. Just wish it was longer or got a sequel. Too late for that now.

Very cool game from my childhood, one of my favorite games. Sound in cut scenes stops working and some of the music cuts off. Other than that it runs great!
