Monster Girl Descent

Apparently, some people feel nostalgic for bad game design in retro dungeon crawls, because that's all this game appears to be. Similar to retro games, you'll just be dropped into the game, with no existing instructions. With no manual or guide provided, expect to run into a wall frequently, until you find out how shallow and void this game is. There is no thematic setup at the start, and there are no fun mechanics later. It's egregious that people are being charged for essentially a poorly cooked-up demo. Overall, this is a very empty game with only two locations (the dungeon and the town), and with the poorest excuse for scenes. It's odd how the character sprites look good, but then the art takes a massive downgrade during the scenes, of which there are barely any (1 for each enemy, one angle only, with less than 20 enemies). While I had an earlier review of the game criticizing many bugs, the developers were able to fix them almost overnight for the more glaring issues and rebalanced the game in only a few days after that. There's still a few design decisions I'd criticize, but as the game is in [b]Very[/b] Early Access, I'll let them slide and say this game is a worthwhile distraction for the price, even this early in it's life cycle.

This was a fun little game. It's not bad but still missing tons of stuff and interactions. I love monster girl games and overall would recommend this game to others. Keep in mind that this game doesn't really tell you what to do so you should explore a little. My main is warrior going an aura build.
