Citadelum

It's a good city builder for what you get out of it. It gets monotonous at times, but i think it could have used more flavor in the missions. Where you had people in the cities who you had to do things for and maybe have it be more political and difficult to hold the city together. I.e. patricians need to be pacified with debauchery and decadence and you need to hold sway with the plebians to keep them from falling under the influence of the tribunate, criminal elements or something. It'd make it more interesting, id think. It's worth trying, just needs a bit more zest to hold your attention.

I like it... very chill cross between Anno series (but with much easier production chains) and Caesar/Pharaoh series. Combat is very basic but it's not the main part of the game anyway. What I didn't like is that almost every time I do not get to build guards before the first raid. Also There are very few ways to reduce crime without that courthouse which is hard to get. If you want a chill city builder with Anno vibes - go for it.

Fun Roman Empire City Builder. Once you get the hang of it, less snarls with managing traffic, but you still have to worry about labor and building effect radii.

A great graphical overhaul and nostalgia trip for lovers of Caesar III, with a stepped up difficulty level in terms of complexity, but alongside some nice quality of life upgrades. Nice music as well!

I would like to say Thank You to Citadelum developer team, I absolutely Love this game, Also I love the Map Editor Where you can create your own content for the game (Missions,Scenarios,etc) That is the Best GAME+ What you can give to players. Cool artstyle, cool mechanics, it's hard asf to get going and stable enough to even begin worrying about anything else. Get it on sale.

Okay to kill a few hours with

I've only scratched the surface of this game but I can tell you that it is a modern take on old school city builders. If you love old school city builders with zone range structures (like I do) then this will scratch that itch for the old days. Everything is HIGHLY intuitive and snappy, making for a smooth process learning this and growing your city. My time (currently) is limited in it, but I already know this will be a highly enjoyable game. Often I think city builders try to be more than what they should be and turn into something overly convoluted and at times complex and micromanagement heavy. In this game there is management, but if you understand how zone-placement buildings work it's not a huge deal. If you are like me, and miss the city and empire games of old this is your ticket! Think of Caesar, Pharaoh + Cleopatra, this is basically your modern remake of those. If you have concerns about development/progression of the game you can dispense with them. After installing it a...
