About This Game

Introducing Assassin’s Creed® Liberation HD, the striking chapter of the pre-American Revolution Assassin’s Creed saga which arrives for the first time on HD consoles and PC. With improved gameplay, a deeper story, and HD graphics, Liberation is an immersive and full Assassin’s Creed experience.

The year is 1765. As the events leading up to the American Revolution heat up in the north, Spanish forces plan to take control of Louisiana in the south – but they have yet to reckon with Aveline, a deadly Assassin who will use every weapon and ability in her arsenal on her quest for freedom. . Whether eliminating her enemies with her multiple assassinations technique or luring them into deadly traps using her tools, Aveline strikes mortal fear into the hearts of those who stand in her way.

As an Assassin, Aveline soon finds herself on an unforgettable journey that will take her from the crowded streets of New Orleans to voodoo-haunted swamps and ancient Mayan ruins. She will play a pivotal role in the turbulent New Orleans revolution and the beginning of a new nation. As she fights for freedom, not for herself, but for those whose life and hopes have been squashed.

Something lightweight when you want to run, jump and stabby-stab but don't want the scope of a mainline AC game. I know it's a PSP port and I really didn't mind the low fidelity. Only 1 mission gave me issues trying to 100% sync but retrying later with a full inventory was a piece of cake. You should get most collectibles along the way, very little cleanup post credits. I was dumb and didn't realize this was included for free when you buy Assassin's Creed III Remastered.

After playing some other AC games and looking back on this game, it's a solid like 8/10. Shorter and more focused then a Mainline AC game but like It feels like a really good little side story. I kind of wish we got maybe a little more time or something to flesh out backstories and motivations. I think the length helps it a ton. The Clothing mechanic is neat but feels under cooked with the fancier outfit. I really wish another AC spinoff or mainline game could revisit this games ideas and expand a bit on it, disguises make a lot of sense for a stealthy shadow order.
Assassin's Creed: Liberation Review

"I am Aveline de Grandpré, I am an Assassin, and I fight for liberation."

Overall Rating: 9.5/10 Gameplay: 7/10 Graphics: 9.8/10 Art Direction and Stylization: 9/10 Story: 8/10 Music and Sound: 9/10 Personal enjoyment: 10/10
Okay, so... I'm just gonna throw this out there, but Aveline kinda gives me Catherine Beadnell vibes from Barbie in A Christmas Carol. Super niche reference, and nobody's gonna get it, but... that’s the vibe I’m getting, alright? This game started out as a PlayStation Vita title back in the early 2010s, and... how do I put this? It gets way more hate than it deserves. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not perfect, not by a long shot. But for a handheld game, it packs a punch with a compact, engaging experience that hits the classic AC formula just right, while tossing in some stuff to keep things interesting. Now, the weak spots are... well, pretty obvious. The story? Kinda thin...

Worst entry of the Colonial games. Janky combat and parkour, worse visuals than AC 3, story drops off after Sequence 4, Persona system is wildly inconvenient, side content is an after thought, voice acting is passing but get worse the longer the game goes on.

the 3 costume system is a cool twist that makes this stand out among other AC games

Took me a while to get into this game as it's a bit different compared to the mainline Assassin's Creed games, but it turned out to be quite enjoyable. The story was engaging and the plot twist was actually unexpected, didn't see that coming. What carried the game for me though was the ambience of the Louisiana Bayou - it was a nice change of pace, just like this game.
