This project aroused my interest and I had high hopes for it. However, my hopes were dashed in the first 20 minutes of the game. I decided to give this project a chance and get to the first boss, and then draw any conclusions. The biggest minus of the game is a mess of everything, where nothing is brought to a tangible level of quality, and in general - it creates the impression that the creator could not decide what he wanted from his brainchild. There are flavors of a cool vampire atmosphere, somewhat reminiscent of LK - Soul Eater, Defiance, etc., with the same faded, rotten colors, ancient ruins, incomprehensible runes and mystification, however - everything is spoiled by the frankly childish and cartoonish rhythm and gameplay, the general style of the enemy design. The gameplay and gameplay loops raise big questions, especially the need to search for gems to use them as ammo. It's unclear what needs such a solution should attract from players, but the interest in searching chest...

About This Game

Zorro and Zedd have searched far and wide for the Secret entrance to their long lost homeland of the Bat-folk. They have caught the scent of dragon in the air, and are zeroing in on the location of the Great Gate of Dundalk. It is there that they will rid the land of the dragon plague and retake their homeland for the Chiroptera.

The Dragon King Octobatron has united the districts of Dundalk under his rule and hidden himself away within a sealed parallel dimension within the Dundalk Capital Court. Zorro and Zedd must slay the 13 Dragon Lords to unseal the portal to the Void, and take their chance to defeat the Dragon King for all Bat-Kind.

There are many terrible traps that the dragons have laid to punish intruders. You must slay all the dragons within the domes of terror to dispel their curse upon the land. You can spot them by their skeletal lanterns looming overhead.

The land of Dundalk is a mystical realm of Evernight. Travel throughout its nocturnal districts to seek out its secrets. Mallary, the Goddess of Dundalk, will be your guide.

Dragons are greedy creatures, they have sealed away their magic gems in treasure hordes across the land of Dundalk. Reclaim the riches of the land and use the magic within to unleash devastation upon your enemies.

Sacrifice the souls of the slain to unlock the ancient power laying dormant within Zorro, Zedd, and their mystical blade, a sword which was stolen from death itself. Mallary has constructed an outpost within the Capital Court where you can take refuge and increase your power.

Played the demo a while ago on my Steam Deck, and it ran pretty well but was missing some polish. Tried the full release out on PC with M+KB, and the game looks and plays a lot better, The mapping is improved, and the movement feels great. I think there needs to be some more options for control mapping and mouse sensitivity though, since the defaults are a little whack, but it feels fine on a controller. Give this game a shot if you like fast and fluid movement and a cool aesthetic - combat is pretty broken when you combo in and out of melee and jumping, so you can blast through it without too much trouble.
Honestly this is a super cool game! If you're looking for the next game to play I'd highly suggest checking this out. Interesting concept and you can tell how much attention to detail was put into it. FIVE STARS :)
- Runs well on Steam deck - Generous with chests containing gems, which you need for the range attacks - Has cloud saves that actually work (how could it not with a developer name like "cloud control" games) - Gets you in the action right away. (Imagine needing to spend hours in cutscenes being force-fed lore while you have a manual of mechanics you need to learn, not here) - Cool animations for the gems. You can attack chests and the gems all auto-collect to your character - The soundtrack is pretty good and unique. Mixes in like ambient, dark, EDM-style, trap with like notes of DOOM at time - Super Mario 64 mechanics: drop shadow under character, jump and dash, 3-level health system - Sense of accomplishment from the big bosses - Still want to explore Dundalk more - I liek gems so I can buy items in da store - Pretty clear objectives and save system - Animations, models, effects, and sounds all come together well - Keep da gems flowing
This game is really fun if your looking for a not overly complicated game you can just turn your brain off and enjoy. The music is really cool and same with the other sounds and effects. It is on the easy side, but that's not really a bad thing, because its nice to get away from the hard and punishing games that keep coming out. Would recommend this game for sure if you're looking for a hack and slash game that is easy to get into! The movement feels great and I like bouncing around the game.
Tried the demo for this game awhile ago - and was very intrigued. It has a wicked atmosphere and great combat. Feels very polished now - like a true game release should. Going to keep playing now! :) (Would absolutely recommmend)
The music, aesthetics, and gameplay in Zorro and Zedd create an environment that makes you relaxed yet entertained. Coming from someone who does not frequently play single player games, I found it fun and not overly difficult learning the mechanics. Highly recommend this game if are looking for something a bit more on the chill side but still challenging at times!
I don’t usually leave positive reviews, especially for smaller indie games that are still finding their audience, but I was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed this one. It’s not that the game is flawless, few games are but what’s here is meaningful, well-crafted, and full of promise. It’s like someone carefully crafted a handful of puzzle pieces that not only fit together, but also form a picture worth looking at. Each area has its own charm and ambiance. While the world shares a consistent aesthetic, there’s a cohesion that makes it feel like a real, lived-in space. The compass works well with the design, no cluttered mini-maps or icons, just natural navigation. It gives a nice sense of exploration and memory. You learn the landscape by being in it, not by staring at menus. The combat is simple but satisfying. You use one button for both sword and bow attacks, which might sound odd but actually makes the flow feel smooth and dynamic. The dodge adds a fun rhythm. You e...
A fast, fun adventure worth diving into! I've played a few hours of Zorro and Zedd so far (plus some solid time in the demo), and it's been a great experience. The character movement feels incredibly fluid and responsive—zipping around the map is just plain fun. Combat is fast-paced and satisfying, with a nice variety of enemies that keep encounters fresh and engaging. Exploring the world of Dundalk has been a real treat. The map design invites curiosity, and I'm excited to keep playing and uncover more secrets. I'm especially looking forward to unlocking more magical powers to help take down the Dragon Lords! If you’re into action-adventure games with slick movement, cool abilities, and a bit of whimsy, Zorro and Zedd is absolutely worth checking out
5/10 I went back and forth in trying to figure out if I wanted to recommend this game. I think it does have some things going for it: -good soundtrack -good movement -easy and you never really lose progress so it's nice for turning your brain off -some cool dragon designs However, it just drags on and never gets better. The gameplay loop stays the exact same and the environments all look the same. The combat isn't really satisfying and the dragons don't really have good attack animations. They just turn white before setting off some firework-like displays. I'm confused on how I have sunk this much time in this game. I'm like a moth to flame with this mediocre game and I think I'm ready to break free from it. I hope the dev keeps making games and this game could've been good if it had some actual platforming. There is little to no platforming which makes the good movement kind of a waste. The dev could've made a similar gaming where combat was a bit more satisfying and there was some ...
