I found Tower of Dreams to be an extremely charming and enjoyable game with exhilarating gameplay and smooth game feel to boot. It manages to be challenging but not frustrating, a balance I have found to very rare for games to strike. It is replayable due to its fun gameplay and a desire it instills to do better than last run. It is extremely accessible but also has a very high skill ceiling, contributing to its replayability. It also has stunning pixel art with a gorgeous color palette. The items feel intuitive and unique at the same time. I have found the different item builds to make every run feel different, leaving me curious and excited about what build I will discover next. The levels are strong and contain clever mechanics that are incorporated creatively throughout the levels. Tower of Dreams also contains many intangible qualities that add to its charm such as its attention to artistic detail and its clever enemy design. Frankly, I am not normally a roguelike person, but Towe...

This game is a great addition to the rogue-lite genre, featuring interesting power-ups, thoughtful level design, incredible music, and it's all-around just fun to play. You will absolutely not be disappointed with this game as it provides a nightmare mode to test the hardiest of players. I mean it, though. The music is solid. I can't get it out of my head. Protip: hit Left Shift to use items
Reminds me of shovel knight, biggest thing I've noticed is that difficulty doesn't save when reloading the game.
Loving ToD!! From it's beautiful imagery, to the easy to pick up hard to master game play, it's a fully enjoyable game! It's vertical twist on side scrollers is refreshing and still reminiscent of some of the best side scrollers of yesteryear. Overall very relaxing and enjoyable gameplay that is challenging without being punishing! Highly recommended!
A lot of fun, charming and the gameplay difficult. It's hard, but fair and forgiving - really really enjoyable if you like to challenge yourself while listening to some great tunes
This game is without a doubt the most incredible, fun filled, magical playing experience I have ever had!! Every level is so brilliantly crafted, creative, the perfect amount of challenging (which increases through each floor) and leaves you wanting to play again and again not only to beat the game but to have unlimited unparalleled experiences through all of the magnificent, extremely varied and very enjoyable items and the opportunity to unlock deluxe upgrades and go for that ever-illusive s rank! Your life will be forever changed the first time you play as Dream Knight!
Control and feel is fantastic. Visuals - including art style, animation, and vfx are all top notch. Audio and soundtrack are incredible! Short and sweet with tons of replay-ability. Love the ability to choose different passive and active items each run - I found the gameplay never gets stale - any time I failed and restarted it was my own fault. Playforming gameplay is smooth and the levels and segments all fly by. Can't recommend this one enough!
Hooked in the first 20 minutes, the risk vs reward game feel has you feeling amazing.
Really great gamefeel
It's a good game and one I can recommend with a caveat: It's only vaguely a roguelike if you squint reasonably hard. Right now, the way things work is that effectively each level of the tower has a pool of static levels it can pull from, and then a few side areas (like shops, or treasure chests with a pool of powerups). So once you know how a level plays out there you're really relying on what power ups the game gives you to spice up the experience. If it wants to lean into the roguelite aspect it needs a bit more meat to it. It doesn't need full proc gen or anything like that, but level modifiers. Or levels built out of predefined chunks that link to each other. Some additional stuff that can affect how each level plays out beyond the baseline. That said, everything else here is generally pretty good. The platforming feels good and responsive, the game has a good art style and the music is great too. So at a minimum you're getting a decent platforming experience out of it and I th...
