Extremely long, basically no content, no autoexplore of levels that are essentially blank, you can basically just carry 20 copies of +health/ammo kits for your rifle and don't see any reason to do any different, completely unclear what stats do, awful Only upside is that its aesthetic vaguely represents Infra Arcana, otherwise I'm completely unsure what this is trying to do

I like ascii games, and this fits the bill perfectly for the first world war. It's less than a coffee, and if you're into games like these, you get your moneys' worth and more. I hope to see more content and maybe more achievements, but that's just me being greedy.
I rushed through the tunnel to find the first boss, a big German with a machinegun standing on top of the floor's exit. I considered my options, and rushed him with my entrenching spade, beating him to death with this shovel. Enemy Trench is a slick game, a very traditional roguelike that immediately grabbed me with its take on the Battle of the Somme. Having very standardized equipment, the framing of each set of levels, and the procedural generation all combine to give it the proper oppressive air of trench warfare, tactical decisions as you struggle with the overwhelming odds. Audio design is good too, all satisfying and atmospheric. Highly recommend the game for those who like roguelikes or wargames.
As someone looking for a "modern" roguelike (i.e: no fantasy, no sci-fi) this one was a refreshing, short and fun ride. ***SPOILERS for the mechanics of the game*** The gear options on the middle game onward starts shine in contrast with the more boring early game. The throwing knife feels to ambush machine gun emplacements while circumventing the forest or trenches. Which then feels awesome equipping said machine gun when the more spongy enemies charge at you. The health system seems like a slot machine at times. The grenades which IMO should've show up sooner to enrich the gameplay earlier. The game would also improve with QoL updates like a slot for melee weapons, a primary weapon and a secondary weapon. I had to juggle these all the time during the game. Sorting the inventory would be nice. All in all, for the price of the game, I enjoyed it a lot.
