Nice, little game. Quite engaging idea for modern modification of an old style game. Graphics is very well done and stylized, as well as is music. Haven't found any bugs. Ship control requires some time to adjust, though. May be little hard at the beginning. Overall, good value for that price.

About This Game
SMALL DEVELOPER NOTE
In 1985 my father brought home a small rectangle with keys that was hooked up to a TV, it was a ZX Spectrum 48k and it hooked me on video games and changed my life forever. I was 5 then, when I decided that I wanted to make games, almost 40 years later I have always been involved with the game industry and decided to make my first game. This is it! Defendor! An Arcade game with solid arcade gameplay with the most basic mechanics I could think off.
Not lying here.. I took gameplay inspiration from a lot of 80s game as well as some new, like bitblaster XL. Love that game!
But I added mechanics that were not available back then. If the game is arcadey, then there is the other side of the base. After each run you can spend your stars in your base to improve you ship capabilities like unlocking new weapons and survivability options.
Survive the time needed to save the base inhabitants before its inevitable destruction.
If you bought the game... thank you. It means more to me than you can possibly imagine.

One thumb down for this one. It is, by design, old looking, but that is fine, the real problem for me is that the ship is too fast for such a small play area, as leaving the screen in any direction kills you. Theoretically you can upgrade the base you are defending, but I was unable to survive long enough to earn any 'stars' which I think are the currency of the upgrade. I did collect little circles, because the game told me to, but I have no clue why, or if they were of any value. I paid under buck, and I found it way too expensive.
Simple old style game mechanics but forged into a modern rogue lite concept. worth it's money
Cool game, my living room shook with an earthquake and I thought it was just the screen. 12/10, would recommend in a dire situation.
This is exactly what I look for in a budget game. I started recording footage for my channel, and I only needed like 10 minutes, but I ended up playing for an hour. This is a single screen space shooter in the vein of Asteroids or Super Bit Blaster XL, but all the little upgrades, new ships, and colony improvements are what really make it unique. The replayability factor is high with this one. If you can get behind simple-yet-effective gameplay and some old school high score chasing, this game is for you.
Very enjoyable.
A bit challenging at the start but honestly, a pretty good game. nice sound track and visuals
Awesome game, quick to play, very smooth gameplay, nice music and sound effects... I really want to start a new attempt to be able to upgrade my base.
Great little rogue-lite shooter. Once you get some momentum, each run you can upgrade something that makes going further easier. I probably won't be playing it all too often after beating the game, but for ~$1 what more can you ask for? Great work.
