Visual novels have a tendency to be very hit or miss for me. While I enjoy the more brief nature of the genre, I still prefer more engaged gameplay. It's quite easy for these stories to repeat themes or lean into being cliche, but Lost Infinity sets itself apart from the first scene. The oppressive atmosphere and stunning, bleak art style drag you into this world. This isn't a story you'll read; it's one you'll feel. If you're stepping into Lost Infinity at the average American adult reading level, you'll still be able to go though the game during a lunch break. It is short, but I love that it does not overstay its welcome. What is quite disappointing is the weightlessness of some of the choices. I went through the game a few times and would have like to seen more impact in the decisions made.
