About This Game

Aladdin of the Forsaken Lands is a retro rpg which offers a novel take on the classic Arabian Nights tale. Six unlikely allies will join together to uncover an ancient artifact and prevent their kingdom from falling into the wrong hands...

NARRATIVE

Aladdin is a thief and adventurer who was found near the border of the Forsaken Lands. Forced to become a prisoner, he is joined by Inaya, a cloaked woman with a hidden past, and Altair, a guardsman who watches over yet cares for the prisoners in his stewardship. However, when the group discovers a strange woman named Sena, Aladdin's goal of escaping servitude begins to evolve into something grander...

ROMANCE & PARTNERSHIPS

When resting, the various party members can be conversed with, nurturing bonds which may grow into either romances or a partnerships. Different endings can be played out depending on the romantic interest or chosen partner.

ATB COMBAT

The ATB (Active Time Battle) system made famous in various retro rpgs makes a return, seeing characters' turns arrive as time passes with aggressive enemies who will attack even as a move is being selected. A "Wait ON" option can be toggled to prevent the enemy from attacking while a move is being selected, allowing the player to decide how frantic they'd like their combat encounters to be.

This is an okay JRPG made on RPGMaker.. The game is relatively short and extremely linear, meaning short and simple dungeons, no side-quests, and no exploration. I did like some of the enemy design and the music is pretty solid. Not a bad JRPG but also nothing special and offers no replayabbility.

I really enjoyed the artwork, and the throwback to classic RPGs like Final Fantasy 5 and 6 I found this game from it's game jam months ago, and was very excited when the developer continued to work on it. It was my 6 year old's favorite game from the jam.

I went into this expecting nothing but got a real comfy 6 hour retro RPG and my new wife. Do not steal. So some bits I think are real good and more RPG's should do. + Choosing your dungeon/adventure order is real nice. I liked the light puzzling dungeons most (water walking / statues) + The "bonfire" rest moments are cute, you can talk to someone for more story, it can even raise stats. + I love me those hit-all weapons. Chakrams for life. + Everyone's basic attack has a element. A cool touch. + Scrolls that teach skills to 1 of 2 characters. Let's you balance your team or give your fav's everything. + Thank god for MP sash, normally games hold out out on items that reduce MP costs. I think your get it in the 2nd dungeon! I very much liked it. 7/10 retro comfyness. I think if there was a bit more unique dungeon overworld sprites, a addition of happy/sad portraits, if Inaya battle sprite didn't look like Aladin's (take of the hood in battle), if the miss chance early game was a bit l...

Absolutely loved it. Game was much longer than i expected, and replay value is great, as choices influence outcomes. Not yet replayed but i will with different friendship / possible romance decisions amongst other things. If you love RPG'S like i do please support this dev and buy this game. Euphonics and Stevierpg i think you will like it too.

Notably great story-telling and options for the player to control character development. I got sucked in, and you will too.
