10/10 This is one the best RPG of all time, it is a masterpiece that need to be studied on how the hell someone on 2000 cooked this, its so ahead of its time that it took 23 years for another studio to make the third game, how Larian manage to make BG3 on par with this game is a miracle and i wish the best of luck to whichever studio thats crazy enough to do BG4 knowing they need to make it on par with this trilogy masterpiece... no pressure lmao

Every hamster has his day!
I've played this game for years. It's a classic a would highly recommend.
I liked Shadows of Amn. The story was much more fleshed out compared to the first game even if it was a bit more linear. I recommend stopping at the end of Shadows of Amn; Throne of Bhaal had mediocre writing, and the combat was a chore rather than interesting at that point in the game.
I loved this game back in the day. It's a shame I've only been able to open this version once. I think I have learned why it wasn't working. You have to give Steam permission to make changes. Most other games don't need that to open. It bugs me, but I don't necessarily think it should be a deal breaker. What might be is that the game is definitely dated. The story as I remember it was good enough that I expect I'll play it through eventually, but I might be nostalgia blind.
Baldur’s Gate 2 took everything from the first game and injected it with steroids, wizard drama, and daddy issues. You start off imprisoned by an evil magic himbo, which really sets the tone. The companions are iconic, the story slaps, and the side quests could be full-blown campaigns in their own right. You can slay dragons, become a god, and still get pickpocketed by a child in Athkatla. It’s like Shakespeare wrote a soap opera and hired a bunch of murderers to act it out. Peak RPG chaos.
I love this game, played it for years. The enhanced edition has added some extra content. Fixed some bugs and enhanced the resolution. A few things I don't like such as red dragon that can heal himself while being pounded on. You know if someone nicks your magic user spell is lost but nope not for Mr. Dragon. LOL it make the fight one hell of a good fight.
This game Has my favourite Antagonist in gaming history, Ever. I played the heck out of my Cd version. Its actually better then the first one.
Baldur’s Gate II: Shadows of Amn is a remarkable sequel that elevates the original's formula to new heights. Thirteen years after its initial release, the Enhanced Edition (BG2EE) offers a nostalgic yet refreshed experience, making it more accessible for newcomers while retaining its classic charm. The game begins shortly after the original, with players imprisoned by the formidable antagonist Irenicus. The storytelling is rich and impactful, filled with emotional weight and dark themes that linger long after the credits roll. Shadows of Amn retains your character's power, starting you at level 8, and challenges you with a dense world packed with meaningful side quests. Exploration is rewarding, often requiring initiative rather than simply following markers, with interconnected stories making every interaction feel significant. Companions play a crucial role, offering deep personal narratives that intertwine with the main story. Their reactions to your choices add weight to de...
Baldur's Gate II is the Greatest Video Game of All Time
There are few games that have stayed with me the way Baldur's Gate II has. Between the original CD release and the Enhanced Edition, I have spent hundreds of hours exploring its world, replaying its story, and falling in love with its characters. Even after dozens of playthroughs, I feel like I have barely scratched the surface. There are quests I have never found, dialogue I have never triggered, and choices I have yet to make. It is a game that keeps giving, no matter how many times I return.
A Party I Cannot Leave Behind
The characters in Baldur's Gate II are unforgettable. They are more than companions. They are part of the experience. I struggle to break away from the same party I have used for years, even though the potential roster is roughly 25 before entering the ToB expansion. Aerie, Minsc, Jaheira, Jan, and Mazzy are my adventuring party. I couldn't imagine the game without them. Their perso...
