Child of Light is an amazingly good JRPG platformer. Even a decade after release, the visuals, soundtrack, and general atmosphere are amazing. The skill trees and gem upgrades are also straightforward, but welcome, and there are some interesting quirks in combat tied to the floating light companion that you control independently. It's set up as a fairy tale, so there isn't a lot of dialogue outside of some minor rhymes, but the game also doesn't drag on unnecessarily. Only one company could stumble on to such a wonderfully unique game and then refuse to make any follow ups while Ubisofting their way through Mixed review release after release after release in the same few tired franchises. Yikes.

I recently bought this game on Steam however have been playing it for many years on Xbox, this is probably my favourite RPG, i think its just perfect and would recommend people to give this game a go. OST is also goated (Coeur de pirate my beloved) and factoring in the artwork and story this game is just a beautiful masterpiece.

A perfect game. Requires a work around for certain cpu's with high thread count. How there was never a sequel is beyond me.
