As a disclaimer. I am reviewing this in its sole function as a remaster. The game itself (Complete Edition) is awesome. However, the Remaster seems to only focus on graphics (which are definitely awesome) while regressing regarding in-game settings. Compared to the complete edition for example the FOV-slider is only adjustable to a fraction of the former value. Also a lot of buttons are remapped for the menue interactions and can't be changed. After playing half through the complete edition and buying the remaster to continue with enhanced graphics, i really can't abide the small FOV range which results in a "tunnel vision" feeling. Especially, with this game featuring stunning panoramas. Which you can't take in with a FOV from -25 (WTF!) to 25. In the Complete Edition it felt like the FOV started at the maximum of the remastered range... Also, in contrast to the complete edition the config file can not directly be edited. I have refunded the game and will rather play the complete...

User Reviews
Hello Friends, Today I will review the game Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered. This game includes the dlc that the original game also had, and has some visual improvements from the original complete edition. There are several improvements compared to the original version of the game versus the remastered edition. Many facial animations have been redone, and motion capture done for other character models. The cost was 10 dollars US more for the remaster versus the original one. Although many people have complained about the price not being worth it for the minor improvements. The story is as good as the original one was, and is a great science fiction RPG. IF you never played it personally, I suggest playing as one of those games you need to try before you die to play at least once. The story is very good for a rpg, even up there with what I would consider a masterpiece rpg. With the mysterious setting of the world and learning about it as the player plays through the game makes it even ...
This game is probably cooking your CPU unnecessarily. Don't waste your money or your time on this remaster. Just get the original on sale. This is just a graphical update and is identical to the original in nearly every other way. Whenever I enter combat (which is pretty often in this game) my cpu temps go through the roof (85c +) and never go back down until I relaunch the game. I can walk around and talk to npc's in towns and enter dialogue cutscenes with no issues. I tested it today by walking around Mother's Heart before the Proving (a graphically demanding scene). Temps were fine (mid-60's), even with a lot of background activity and skipping in and out of dialogue/pre-rendered cutscenes. As soon as the Proving started and combat commenced, the CPU temps spiked into the mid 80's and never recovered. This was in line with what I saw in the open world-- 5 to 10 minutes of normal temps and then a huge spike whenever combat happened. I want my system to last a long time, so huge, a...
good game concept, bad mount control, ugly character design is worst
Absolutely beautiful game! The best part is dynamic dialogues based on progression. Feels very immersive with story which is of course nice emotional rollercoaster. Love how it was part of my teen life for an hour literally and couldnt afford to play more. Thanks for the remastered. Revisiting to finish it finally was worth it! Also appreciate the effort with timeline and data points around the map! Found almost all but enjoyed that journey of listening the history. Killing enemies does not get boring ever. Each environment change would bring variety of hoards and different ways to kill them. Creative AF!!
this game is amazing. absolutely beautiful. killer gameplay. great selection of weapons and customizations. the fear I felt the first time I encountered a Thunderjaw made my heart pound with adrenaline. each enemy has their own unique weak points with different weaknesses and there are many ways to take each one of them down. you go from scared of being seen by enemies to "i'm not stuck in here with you. you're stuck in here with me" installing the sequel (Forbidden West) as I type this review.
E3 2015, when Aloy walked down the hill and took out the first watcher, I thought it was the coolest thing I’d ever seen. I followed closely for 2 years until release… even purchased a ps4 pro to play specifically this game… That being said, I ditched it after a week to play breath of the wild. Didn’t go back for months, and when I finally finished it on ps4 it left no impression on me. I feel the same again today! This world is brutal, but it is not filled with a bunch of hardened warriors… but starbucks customers. Like… they’d all be dead by now right? Thunderjaw would have ripped them to shreds day one. Not one is competent, even Arend of whatever his name is. If you want a junk food open world game, buy AC Odyssey instead. Way more fun, and if you have to cringe through a story, better to do that with Kassandra than genero Aloy. You ever seen an old cast iron fence, with way too many coats of paint on it? That’s how this remaster feels… Like the old ...
too many bugs, doesn't work anywhere near as well as initial release version. constant crashes, freezing up. failed video loads loaing to a blank screen-gotta close out game and reload to get video
The game is impossible to finish. I crash at the exact same spot every time I get to it. It is part of the main quest, I can't leave the area and can't go past it as every time I get to that exact spot the game crashes. I've tried every setting and every time it crashes at the exact same spot, whether I fight the machines, whether I try to run past them. What's crazy is I found a reddit post from FOUR YEARS AGO with the exact same problem, and the only solution is to tinker with my bios which I 100% do not feel comfortable with. https://www.reddit.com/r/horizon/comments/rt266g/game_crashes_at_the_exact_same_spot_in_the/
the game is great and from what i remember from when playing the original and youtube comparisons the graphics are great. something that i cant say for the optimization... on medium to low settings on 1440p i get 70 fps when idle... during actual gameplay it goes to 50-60fps and on the frozen wilds dlc (full of snow) it drops down to 30-50 fps with the snow that is falling and is like 20 steps away from you being basically low quality blocks (demo image i took https://i.imgur.com/cHYxfDJ.jpeg). i know that my gpu isnt for 1440p gaming (rtx 4060) but that perfomance with both upscaling and frame gen on the performance setting and the dlss dll changed to the newest available should be a joke... (i play other games like rdr2, farcry 6, cyberpunk 2077, ready or not... on 100+ fps and everything on medium to high with the exception of cyberpunk which i play it on medium to low settings) i recommend to get the bundle with both versions bc they usually are the same exact price as the normal...
