Bad Mojo Redux

Notice how every negative review is something like: "the game doesn't work! I don't get the riddles and my wife's boyfriend won't help me with the puzzles!" Do not listen to those losers. This is actually a wonderful Christian game, and I have been enjoying it with no issues for the past couple hours of playing.

Funny, this is probably [i]the[/i] game I wanted to play the most as a child but never had the chance. I used to have a beautiful colorpinted PC games walkthrough guide book, reading through it I found this game fascinating, but had no idea where to get it. Fast forward, I'm surprised that I remembered it. Time to fulfill a childhood dream (maybe?). I expected a point and click game but it turned out to be a walking sim with puzzles. The live action cutscenes were fascinating, especially the shots of a cable-stayed bridge with great camera angles. Once I gained full control, I didn’t expect the game to be...gross. The developers did an amazing job modeling the cockroach, mimicking its movements with stunning detail - even the way it turns and flips its body. Controlling the cockroach is easy, and the game runs smoothly on Windows 11. You start in a pipe and then explore the table/floor maze with sticky pesticide walls. The game is literally broken for anyone using anything after Windows 7...ironically the redux needs a redux. Despite that fact, this game is cool as hell. No other game feels as weird or gross as this, which is good because you're a literal bug. The scope is honestly impressive for a game of this age; you can crawl all over the walls and props of the rooms you explore, each with unique soundtracks and terrain which facilitates the pace of the game. Speaking of which, the soundtrack rules and its incredible for a game as obscure as this. The world has tons of nooks and crannies with secrets to read. The narrative is really good too if you can get over the weird and cryptic dialogue. All these other games pretend to be Kafka-inspired, but this is the real deal. Play the game, its well worth your time and your literal 1 dollar.

- Absolutely horrendous controls and movement. - Save/Load may softlock a player by putting him out of bounds. P.S. Yes, the game looks good, but who cares if it plays like shit.
