This is a very well executed boomer-shooter with some novel mechanics. I love the art style of body horror through retro googles and its supported well by the audio. Effects and music are a proper fit and encourage literally bouncing off the walls. Not super far in yet, but very much excited to see the rest. The cut scenes ring the 90's nostalgia bell vigorously and its clear that a lot of love went into this game. I hope the Dev's are proud, because they deserve to be.

About This Game

In order to pay off your family's' debt, you've relinquished your body to be resurrected as a killing machine. Centuries later, you wake up to a world that is physically broken in half, and a blight of undulating flesh is writhing from its core and overcoming the last remnants of civilization. As the Galvanized, it's all on you to beat back the flesh blight, and protect your city from the encroaching threat. Do you have what it takes, or will you be assimilated like the rest? Blast your way through gritty, brutalist settings and monsters far beyond even your darkest fears. Traverse this forboding terrain with a body of unfeeling steel and superhuman speed. Above all, if you wish to regain your material freedom, leave none of the weaker fleshnoid lifeforms in your wake...

Galvanized will have an episodic single player campaign with a free demo, a format evocative of PC gaming's shareware era. Paid content will be released as Episodes which will be selectable from the main menu if you buy into Galvanized early access.
The final game will feature 3 episodes in total where you discover this twisted world's origins, and who is truly to blame for its fate.
Your new body will also feature advanced movement mechanics, like a thrusted dash and wall kicking, that will encourage speedy gameplay.

A Galvanized warrior drone has a hefty arsenal at their disposal, but they must be recovered from the environment. There are alternate firing modes for each weapon. Try right clicking with each for a hefty variety of combat and movement options!
Slag Gun - The primary fire punches 6 holes into a disk of compacted slag at supersonic speeds, creating a short range kinetic burst for for clearing your immediate surroundings. The alt-fire launches a grenade for lobbing around corners and behind enemy cover.
Chain Gun - A rotary assault weapon fed by a quantum hypercapacity magazine designed to deliver a steady stream of hollow point ammunition to any cellular life the user wishes to shred. The alt-fire is a grappling chain that embeds itself into fleshy surfaces in the environment, you can raise or lower yourself on the chain with the scroll wheel for an extended range of movement.
Rocket Gun - The primary fire delivers a payload of high explosive charges that are effective against foes with heavy armor or metalic bodies. The alt fire activates a spacetime moebius strip at the rocket's current position, essentially freezing it in mid air. Use this to charge a barage for clearing many enemies at once.
Burr Gun - A mysterious flesh blight organism that turns out to make a great improvised weapon for the Galvanized. It spits a small spikey lifeform out of what most would assume is a mouth. The alt-fire allows the weilder to control the position of the Burr psychokinetically to pummel any target. The more lifeforms it spits out, the more effective the attack, however spawning these creatures takes time that must be used to evade enemy attack.
Far Gun - A long range, rotary duel barreled rifle with sensor driven anti-recoil motors for pinpoint accuracy at 8,000 yards in any condition. The alt-fire brings up the scope to zoom in, go for headshots on unaware targets for maximum damage.
There's many more weapons to come!

As you engage the fleshy menace, you'll begin hearing voices within your mind. A particularly persistant one says, "Do better."
This special time attack mode will allow you to race a ghost version of your best time in clearing a single player level.
Optimize your movement and combat strategy to beat your personal best times and climb your way up the online leaderboard!

Only a few hours in and I'm not feeling many positives. I can barely tell if I am hitting anything ever, It's unbelievably easy to get lost and navigating and searching isn't really fun to me when I am being barraged by countless enemies that are honestly too hard to see, the game is extremely dark and there's no brightness options, and oh my god i am incapable of getting past the level with the weird mouth horses, I can't find anywhere at all to go and the bridge mechanisms, if I am meant to operate them, are not doing anything and I can't for the life of me figure out where I should be going. First impressions were good, the intro especially, but the more I have played this game the less I like it. extremely unsatisfying guns and navigation is very bothersome. If I manage to get past that level I'll continue to the end because I don't like to hold an opinion on a game I've not finished (or at least tried to) but so far the game is very meh.
AHHHHHH THE BAJA BLAST... Game is good
the game is good, has a great art style, interesting weapons, and unique setting. amazing gibs when enemies die. you will be right at home if you like boomer shooters & quake type games. the grappling chain mechanic is pretty fun once you get used to it. the levels themselves are large industrial areas with lots of atmosphere. As far as weapons go, I didn't really like the shotgun. It feels a bit weak. everything the shotgun(slag gun) does the chain gun does much better. neither of them can hit anything past close range. the machine gun seems to do more damage, and it can gib enemies. the rocket launcher is amazing tho. & the weird goo gun is cool as well. I'm four levels in and haven’t come across the sniper yet, which was easily the best weapon in the demo. hoping to find it soon. another gripe I had was with the checkpoints. they are spread a bit thin in some places. anyway , great game overalll
Hour 1 of playing Galvanized: I can wall jump, and everything exploded into fleshy loots. My city and or convoy screams for someone to save it, my slag gun an instrument of justice. *Chaingun swing into Gotham* Hour 2 of playing Galvanized: With great mobility comes a hail of unanswered gunfire. I have become Spider-Bot, why combat when I can run for my life? And crap… the meat machine requires flesh… *charges slag gun and creates orphans* In all seriousness, it’s a good shooter and even better movement game. Something about going mirrors edge style and experimenting with the physics at times makes the gameplay so much better than it lets on. I mean you could shoot most of things but then that takes time, bullets, and respawns, but do you either way it works, but the lack of guidance on the level is kind of a feature once you get the basics: see something red, then it means you haven’t hit the button or fed the machine. Do that and you progress how you do it and how much meat...
Edit: after coming back. So glad that once I figured out the flow of the highway part I could just skip through it entirely, no point in fighting the enemies as your main goal is to just find the exit. Rocket launcher and the chain gun have kept me pushing through. Weird eyeball scene after highway level needs some attention, whatever the voice was saying was drowned out by whatever that god awful background sound was. Combat for the most part is pointless until you come across a furnace. Then it's required. Sniper takes too long to chamber a round. Game turns into easy mode when you turn ghost mode on. Shout out to devs who leave console commands in in 2025. Made it to the end of the episode, terrible boss fight made worse by turrets you cannot destroy, and constantly being knocked into the acid. Seen the outcome of beating the boss coming from a mile away. Oh no our precious meat suit! womp womp. Still recommend. but probably going to uninstall now as there is no replay value curr...
Fun old-school shooter with a crunchy aesthetic. Love the grapple gun mechanic and platforming in general. Excited to see where they go with the future episodes!
Extremely mixed with this game. Overall gameplay is like if you combined half life 2 movement with dusk and quake and added your own extra spice. Artstyle shines brightly here. But this game pisses me off, like getting 80% through a level, moth knocks you off into a pit of lava, forcing you to start the entire level again. Quicksaves would be nice. Also e1m2 fucking blows
The movement mechanics feels absolutely great and the cut scenes, game play, and music pull off the retro vibe perfectly. This isn't normally my type of game but as I move through the game and get comfortable with it i enjoy it more and more!
