About This Game

The parade is about to begin! I will give lots of shiny points to the critter with the best things that I like the most!

Join Chip, Sweep, and the kids of Everdell to build the most spectacular make-believe city ever!

This easy-to-learn worker-placement and tableau-building board game gets the lil’ ones' brains a buzzin’. Climb across the rope bridge, watch out for the dragon’s den, and join us in the fort for the latest addition to the award-winning Everdell line – perfect for kids and families!

How to Play

Welcome to Everdell takes place over four rounds. We'll take turns sending our Friends around the forest to gather resources like berries, twigs, and resin that we'll use to play cards from our hand.

There are two types of cards – critters and places. In addition to scoring points, each card provides other rewards:

  • Green cards activate once as soon as you play them, and they activate again at the beginning of each new round.
  • Blue cards activate after playing a certain card type or earning a Parade, or let you play a certain card for cheaper.
  • Tan cards activate only one time as soon as you play them. They do not activate again.
  • Red cards activate when you place a Friend on them. Each player may only use their own Red cards that they have played.
  • Purple cards only activate after the game has ended. They give you point tokens for other cards or Parades you may have at the end of the game.

Parades are special point bonuses that you can earn by collecting different sets of cards. Each player can earn each parade once, and they're worth more points the sooner you get them, so go quick! There are four different types of parades:

  • 5 Places
  • 5 Critters
  • At least 1 of each colored symbol
  • 3 cards of the same color (except Green)

After four rounds, the game is over and we add up our points – whoever has built the best make-believe city wins!

tldr; stripped down gameplay without sacrificing the joy With new art and music, Welcome to Everdell feels like a new game. Having played Everdell, both the board game and the PC and Mobile version, I was excited to try out this "new" title. The gameplay is essentially the same except stripped down. Less resource types, less card effects, less turns, less everything. However, the game still feels satisfying to play. Dragging the cards and meeples feels smoother than the previous edition. The cards are much simpler and less turns means the game doesn't drag on. The graphics feel crisper and the day and night animation is beautiful. Just remember, this is a stripped down version. It feels very fast paced and simple. However, I think this version would suit mobile much better than classic Everdell, if it ever comes out. Good to bring out for the kids or introducing people to Everdell.

It feels very odd to enjoy a game that's teacher approved on mobile devices lol. It's a simple game, It won't take long for you to consistently win ( I've been beating the hardest solo challenge a lot. ) I know this is aimed at children but it's like a fun solitaire like game. Not intensive but fun enough to play quite a few times. It also nicely sets you up somewhat for Everdell ( I didn't make these names. Everdell and Welcome to Everdell are so different. ) If you want a light game if you're really exhausted, You can pick this. Don't expect much intensity out of it. ( Feedback : Please add a card Index. )

Oooohhhhh. This is "My Lil' Everdell." I play the board game with my family. Since we use Family Sharing on my Steam library, I can see this getting played quite a bit by the kids. Just like the digital implementation of the original game, I do like the challenges and what they bring to the game.

Having played many hours of Everdell on mobile, I am loving this lighter version too. It is similar to Everdell but there is a simplicity to it that is fun. I hope a mobile version comes out eventually as I will happily double dip. This was definitely a great purchase. I love the animations and the music. Everything is well done!!!

I hope to learn Everdell after playing that one. I had fun finishing campaign learning the rules on the way. Here is a hint why it is name Welcome To Everdell instead of original My Lil' Everdell https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SElpFsGPErw&t=869s

I don't really like table top games so I just wanted to try this because you never know... I love this, it's so adorable and suprisingly complex at times lol. Now I really want to get the board game. 5/5
