The Crimson Pearl

If I'm being honest this game felt threadbare. It was a game I had to come back to at separate intervals to finish, but for what it had to offer I enjoyed it. All the structures were in place for it to shine.I do believe including more content, more immersive gameplay and world-building/storytelling, among general tweaks like fast-travel, respawnable enemies could really help this game stand on its own.

After 2 hours of playing time (offline) here is my review: There are many good RPGMaker games, some are even really great. Well, Crimson Pearl is not one of them. Rather, it plays as if someone took parts from other games and mixed them in a blender. The story...of course we have to save the world. But after the first dungeon there is a disagreement in the group. 1 of the witches is changed by an artifact, kills another group member and hey presto, now it is up to us and a new group to stop this witch. To do this we have to find 3 artifacts that are scattered around the world and bring them together. There is no map...means walking around (on foot or by ship) until you reach the next dungeon. The dungeons are boring. They drag on endlessly like a tube, every now and then there is a fork...one path leads to the goal, the other usually to a chest whose contents are hardly worth the effort. The fights are always the same. Each dungeon is populated by only 2 types of monster. The rewards...
