About This Game

Toree Saturn is the newest game in the "Toree Franchise".
It's a speed based 3D Platformer featuring a round bird with sunglasses and a backpack!

Run through linear levels from point A to B with a double jumping bird while avoiding enemies, collecting stars (if desired), and getting all kinds of little speed boosts along the way.

Features:
  • - Simple to understand gameplay: Just run around and jump and you already set to get the highest rankings in each level
  • - A variety of levels with different retro and colorful themes
  • - Cool tunes inspired by late 90s as well as early Y2K styles.
  • - A bird with sunglasses and a backpack!

(New) Features (for people who played the earlier stuff):

- Toree has two new moves! The player can now use a grounddash in mid air to descend faster and get a speedboost when impacting on the ground, as well as homing in on special stars to get a height and movement boost.

- New Looks! Toree Saturns artstyle tries to be a combination of late 90s 3D with some of the more crazy looks of the early Y2K era. It's like a natural evolution of the artstyle of the previous games... I hope.

- Controlling Toree got way easier!
No more Run-Button, meaning players don't have to hold down the right trigger for ages.
Most actions (except for the trigger for the ground dash) only use the Jump button.
Ground Dash is performed by the now freed Right Trigger of your controller (LMB if K&M)

NOT a bad game, but IMO a regression from Toree 2. Unable to leave a neutral review so I'm leaving a negative one. With such a long wait between this game and the last, I expected it to be more substantial. While there are more levels, it's only 12 stages instead of 8, and the campaign can be finished in just about 30 minutes. That's barely longer than Toree 2, and a very light amount of content for $5. There are a bunch of mini games, and the story has cutscenes now, but I don't really consider those to be meaningful content. My main complaint is that in the pursuit of making the game faster and more streamlined by adding a dash and homing attack, level design was sacrificed. Instead of testing your movement, timing, and ability to preserve momentum like in Toree 2, this game primarily tests how often you can mash the dash button and how well you can hold forward and do homing attacks. A few of the levels are little more than hallways where you hold forward and take path with th...

This is the first game from Siactro that I've actually been following the development of and have been actively anticipating. As I understand it, this game has had an exceptionally long development period compared to their others, and I'm glad all of that development time went into making the quality of the bite-sized game higher instead of making a longer game of similar quality to past ones. Toree controls excellently for playing levels as intended, although the way your momentum sticks to you when you want to break off of the intended path to search for secrets is not ideal. I don't want to spoil anything, but this game had my jaw on the floor several times with what it did. Make sure to stick around for the secrets, too, because they're equally jaw-dropping. Long live Siactro.

this game is such a disappointment, i was so excited to play it. I expected this dev's games to get bigger and better with the increased price and longer development time but they're getting shorter and shorter. it's as simple as that, game's more expensive but it's way shorter compared to the dev's other longer and cheaper games, just play those instead edit clarification: i was referring to how you can get both toree 2 and super kiwi 64 for cheaper than toree saturn, which ran me like 5.7 hours together, meanwhile i was done with this game after 40 minutes. i should point out that both toree 2 and super kiwi 64 got post launch expansions, while i played this game on day one. although free updates are cool its not a justification for this game to be 30 minutes long to complete. i also felt like this game was very lacking in original gimmicks, every level feels the same gameplay wise, toree used to have way more gimmicks, it made this game feel extremely empty in compersion. eitherw...

Nice game. Definitely had fun. but where the hell did this bomb ass soundtrack come from!? On a side note, i'd like more games like this to come around. $5-$10, laid back and casual action, nothing too fancy, but still satisfying.

USE THE DROP DASH, the game becomes an absolute speedrunning masterclass once you do!

This needs an immediate patch because the games lags to about half the frame rate, to the point of unplayability in spite of the low poly nature. for the record I played the demo and it did not lag at all so it must be something with the base game. Please send help because I really like this game already but I can't play it in its current state

Personally feel like this is the most polished and fun Siactro game to date, with an absolute banger soundtrack, a lovely experience as always. Marcus never fails to make amazing games :)

Never played any of the other Toree games, but this one was so fun! The soundtrack is full of rich and expertly executed songs from many different genres. You've got lovely and heartwarming pop songs about love, metal tracks that pump you up, and even crush 40 type punk rock. Meanwhile the gameplay reaches a really neat middle ground of simple to control, while still having a layer of execution. It gets you into a flow state if you want to master the stages and get everything. There's also a lot to find in terms of neat early 3D minigames and skins. All things combined, Toree just makes you feel happy to be in its world. It's the perfect game to play with friends watching or to have in the background of watching videos. There's no fat, just pure game.

A case where I wish steam had a mixed option because its certainly not bad, but its not good either, you'd probably expect the increase from 1$ to 5$ means its a fairly sizeable increase in length or quality from the previous toree games however its not really either, confident in saying the presentation is better, visually more varied and polished and the soundtrack clearly had a lot put into it but it only took 27 minutes to beat for something i probably wont come back to because its not that engaging, toree 3d was fun to replay levels in but with this i cant imagine doing that because the game is so focused on the homing attack theres borderline no platforming in the whole game. I wish i could like the game because I was genuinely anticipating it even if one of its demos left me sceptical but its not really done that much for me
