Gunlok is one of those very underrated and obscure games that most people have never heard of. I was in 2nd standard in primary school when the game was released; I was in 9th standard when I first played it, and today I am a banker in my late twenties. I personally loved this game and it is good to see that the developers are having another go at it. I hope more people play the game and get to experience the fun. What I liked compared to the original 2000 version: -If enemies are behind walls or on higher ground, it will show "Target obscured" instead of having your characters shoot away at them. -When you try to give ammo to your teammates, they can only accept the amount they have capacity for, instead of rejecting altogether. -Graphics appear to have been improved, although the enhancements are subtle. What I disliked compared to the original: -Too much chrome. The character models are now too silvery, instead of the dusty look of the original. -Plasma Flares have been rendered c...

I played this originally a long, long time ago, but back then I didn't get very far into the game. The graphics are so so, there's a bunch of issues with the mini map, AI is dumb, and it crashed a couple of times, but it has this old school kind of vibe that can be very captivating. Easy to get into, not too many mechanics, but can be a bit challenging and lets you figure out things on your own. I wouldn't call it a hidden gem, but I find it fun and something a bit different.
Warning: Broken Game! This game has design/implementation defects that will render this unplayable for many gamers. The developers pulled the plug on the back end servers making the game local player only. It cannot be played as originally intended. Furthermore, the game does not work on high resolution display and crashes immediately. The game cannot be played on modern gaming systems.
Gunlok is an ancient game from 2000. It's a whopping 24 years old at the time of this review. The game lacks support for any modern gaming display resolutions (or widescreen monitors), hasn't been modernised or updated to run smoothly on modern gaming PCs. Despite this lack of modernisation, it carries a pretty high price tag for such an ancient game. This seems to have been put on Steam as a nostalgia gouge, or just a cash grab to try profit from abandonware. Gunlock was a hybrid top down combat game and adventure/RPG of medium quality... the kind of thing that went stra...
Purchased this game yesterday and have to say I was very quickly impressed. For anybody that does not know this game originally came out in 2000. There were some small issues but they were more a matter of some stuff not working as smoothly as games I am used to, but these issues are easy to overlook considering the age of this title. The squad mechanics are really fun with each member having their own niche to fill. You have the ability to queue up commands so you can really take advantage of the different abilities of each member. You also have the ability to stealth your way past enemies if you desire with places to hide and decoys that will grab enemy attention. good old game from my past still holds up today tho i wish i had a sequel
Good game, heavy strategic gameplay, based on different maps, but REALLY time consuming. Such a hard game, I think most people is going to give up for this as soon as they reach mission 7 Docks.
