Double Date - Yuri Visual Novel

This is a good yuri visual novel. It's short, but I really like the art and character designs, and seeing things from the perspective of the yuri couple's dogs makes it pretty novel. While the story has alternate universe versions of another VN by the same devs - Death Becomes You - the two couldn't be more different in terms of tone. This is light, fluffy, and a very good time.

Hello! Your friendly neighborhood himejoshi lesbian here to chime in on another adorable yuri VN! I played the demo of this game before the official game was released on August 7th. I fell in love with the simple but heart-warming premise of the story immediately. The "pets are trying to get their owners together" is a rom-com trope I've always enjoyed. I often play games involving some dark themes as well, but sometimes you need a good lighthearted story to make you love life again. It is a very predictable game, but sometimes that's a refreshing change of pace. One thing about this game that I WOULD change is the length of it. It's short and sweet, as it should be, but I would've liked to see a chapter of them in the future where they all live together so we could catch a glimpse of how they all interact in the same home environment. Double Date - Yuri Visual Novel by Quill Yuri is a cute, refreshing story of how Alice and Sophie meet during a happy little accident while adopting two dogs from a shelter. It captures the insecurities and pressures faced by two women in their mid-twenties in both the workplace and the social space. They are not stellar opposites but their personalities and approach to it all is quite different. The story is about double odd couples because their dogs end up being the opposite personalities from their owners so as the humans are getting to know each other they also have to adapt to living with their dogs as well as the dogs having to get used to their humans. The story is told from the viewpoints of all four characters, often with parts of the same scene being revisited from the others' perspectives. It is actually an effective way of telling the story. The height difference is EVERYTHING. That one CG... Alice OMG so cute >.< I really really love reading all the things that Alice and Sophie get up to and it having Toronto as a 5th main character really makes me want to visit one day. It's really sweet and the "parent trap" story line where everyone learns how to adapt to the needs of each other in a really cute way mean that each character, even beyond the romance, had a really nice character arc throughout the VN. Dev notes tease at Daniella and Apolline (the character's from Death Becomes you that the Shibas Apple & Dani are based on) getting their own cute AU and I would love to see it. Watching Dani being the smuggest little shiba only makes me love her character more. If you want something that would just make you go Awwww then this is such a good VN!

Loved this story, it had my favorite things yuri and dogs, how could I not love it? Reallt wholesome and sweet.

Really nice short visual novel. Has some typos and such and maybe a bit too plainly written sometimes(personal preference) but still overall very nice. Seeing the dogs perspectives is also very cute and fun.

The first 5 minutes of the opening chapter were so fluffy and wonderful that I paused out to thumb the game up. I'll update my review if this takes a total left turn or something, but I'm already convinced I'm gonna love where the rest of this story goes. -- 1 hr update: Oh my lord this game has put so many stupid little smiles on my face. I've been playing it in 5-10 minute increments, treating the PoV switches like pages in a 4-koma manga -- largely as a way of savoring the vibes, because I am *loving* this thing. An absolutely wonderful experience.

I knew I had to play this game as soon as I saw it! The story is super cute and the art is charming as well. I highly recommend checking it out!
