Unique photo challenges test your creative eye along with your piloting skills while you strive to capture the perfect moment.

Advanced Simulation
Enhanced physics system allows 10,000+ rigid-body surfaces that enable the simulation of any shape of aircraft. Soft body physics supports cloth, ropes, balloons, and more. Improved ground and water handling further enhance realism.

New, highly accurate aircraft systems including electrical, pneumatic, fuel and hydraulic systems, payload and passenger systems, and avionics like the Universal UNS-1 FMS and Primus Epic 2. Preflight inspections and walkaround checks add to immersion.

Plan your flights with a groundbreaking flight planner which supports both IFR and VFR map layers, IFR charts, route planning, fuel and payload planning, vertical profile planning, and ETOPS planning. It also provides airport information including weather and NOTAMS and is available native in the sim, on mobile devices or web browsers for flight planning outside the simulator.

Explore Our Visually Stunning Digital Twin
Explore our most detailed re-creation of planet Earth to date. Enhanced digital elevation maps, over 500 TIN (triangular irregular network) cities and more than 100,000 square kilometers of countryside photogrammetry allow for visually stunning digital twin experiences. More than 150 airports, 2,000 glider airports, 10,000 heliports, 2,000 points of interest, and 900 oil rigs have been carefully hand-crafted while a procedural system generates all 40,000 airports, 80,000 helipads, 1.5 billion buildings, and nearly 3 trillion trees our planet.

Land anywhere and, for the first time in Microsoft Flight Simulator, exit your aircraft to explore 27 highly detailed biomes with hundreds of species of vegetation, dynamically created details including grass, rocks, and flowers – all influenced by seasonal changes. The all-new photometric lighting system renders the world more accurately than ever before, and enhanced weather features such as new cloud types, auroras, and other weather phenomena produce fresh and compelling atmospheric experiences.

The world comes alive with a vast array of land-based wildlife in their natural habitats and free-ranging livestock across the entire globe. The oceans and waterways are teeming with live, worldwide maritime traffic ranging from large tankers and cargo ships to trawlers, tugs, and more. A richly diverse, regionally accurate representation of humanity brings life to the airports, aircraft, and passenger cabins of the world. Enhanced real-world air traffic populates the skies and airport tarmacs with hundreds of accurately depicted aircraft models and dozens of officially licensed liveries.

Almost an entire year later, and the sim is still missing aircraft. Paid $200 for aviator, and nothing works. We need a class action. Asobo is guilty of false advertising.

TL;DR If you just like to casually fly around stick with 2020. If you want high blood pressure and love bugs this is the game for you. Don't waste your time or your money on this pile of crap. Only upgraded from 2020 for career mode. Total waste of time and money. Forced to grind shitty repetitive missions. Same shitty planes, same shitty scripts. Same shitty AI voice dubs. Over and over and over again. Can't even get something as simple as a 172 right. AI doesnt say "One Seventy Two" it says "one seven two" Wouldn't be a problem if you didnt get stuck flying it for endless hours. Literally no variety at all in the scripts. Flight tests? Yeah one pattern take off and landing qualifies you to be a commercial pilot. Developers cant stop hackers in multiplayer games but my god this devs went out of their way to make sure you cant give yourself extra credits to bypass the grind in this single player game. Load times are faster, but that time will be wasted configuring your c...

Still broken 9 months later Career mode is good sometimes, When im doing cargo mission with the PC-24 it forces me to the ground when I skip to decent, passengers in the VIP charter flights keep clipping through the plane, game looks nothing like how it was shown this game needs major work I do not recommend this game as of August 2025 if you want a flight sim buy 2020 instead

At over 550 hours on the game i really wish i could say i'd recommend someone else buying it but i can't, at least not currently. Its just not in any way shape or form a reliable game to invest time into. When you can get the game to actually run without crashing on the main loading screen you're in pretty good shape for most of what you want to do as long as that thing isn't career mode. Constant in game glitches rob you of your in game money and reputation. Plenty of the planes in career mode just flat out don't work. Its pretty sad considering the money this game can cost you depending on what version you get. Its way more like playing a beta or early access game (a rough one at that) but is being sold as a normal complete fully working game and its just not. Its not even close. I've gone weeks at a time where you can't even get past the loading screen then weeks that it'll run every day, granted thats still with all of its other in game glitches but being able to at least pay the b...

While MSFS24 LOOKS better than 20, it is far worse than 20 in many ways. Buggy game play and poor performance being the worst offenders and now that this game has been out for a year, it's still pretty bad and it doesn't look like Microsoft care enough to deliver a finished game or even live up to their promises which is a huge shame after spending £130 on this...

I've been playing in both VR and desktop, I spend most time in desktop free flight but recently started only doing career and I have my first two certifications already. I also own just a HOTAS and wouldn't consider myself a serious flight simulator enthusiast, I just like a fun time. --- I would say $70 is a bit steep but that's my opinion for the average gamer, I think if you're a hobbyist it's likely you've already spent $100+ just on equipment to play the sim with and you know what you're getting into. I know a lot of people who get into sims do it specifically because of the realism 1:1 copy of irl planes and I can't comment on that. If spending money on this is your deciding factor I would say maybe look into how badly you want a flight sim. If you've spent a lot of time AND money on MSFS20, I would say you should hold off on this one. If you had experience in MSFS20 and want a more updated feel then MSFS24 might be better than MSFS20. Plus installing '24 is a helluva lot better...

300$ game and you cant use any of the actual "cool" features in free flight/activities. (being firefighting, crop spraying, SAR, etc.) as they are only available when playing the career mode. Career mode is undoubtedly the actual WORST! You are choked into linear missions that are auto generated by the worst algorithm available. Expect to fly unattainable cargo mission where they want you fly IFR in sunny non cloud days and land 208's/Pilatus on grass strips that equal 300m. There are trees installed at the end of every runway: even when u can see on the gps map that the airport clearcut the forests. Constant U turns on the runways as when landing they will put the hold short behind you, downwind landings, and constant taxi penalties for going any more than 5km/h. TONS of bugs: (don't even get me started!) Throttles on certain aircraft will not work with certain controllers. The console controls will drive you MAD as the throttles wont work because cause you looked at something i...

In it's current state, after a release that would barely be considered up to even Beta standards, i would NOT recommend anyone buying this game at this point. All they would be doing is paying Microsoft and Asobo for the privilege of being a beta tester for them.
