About This Game

SUMMERHOUSE is a small-scale building game and a love letter to the feeling of long lost summer afternoons.

Craft a neighbourhood of tiny, beautiful lived-in homes in a variety of settings: the sea, the city, or the mountains. While there are some little secrets to uncover, there are no rules, and you can’t win or lose. Just chill out, build to your heart’s content and soak up the atmosphere.

If relaxation and creation are your thing, this is a game for you :)

Please keep in mind that this is a small game with no goals or challenges, created by a single person🙂

I love decorating games and this one seemed like a cute, zen one, so i was excited to try it out. unfortunately, in my experience, the controls on this game are opaque and ANNOYING. game doesn't show you what any of the controls are, or have an ability to "look up" the keybindings in the settings, so expect a lot of trial and error while you figure out what you can do and how to do it. the keybinds that have been chosen are frustrating/make no sense and cannot be rebound. the UI is cumbersome and requires SO MUCH clicking around and scrolling through menus to get what you want. also scrolling around the decorating space makes the item tabs glitch out occasionally (they look like you scrolled the window all the way to the right horizontally and now it is halfway off the screen. it is resolved by opening and closing that tab while moving the camera until you can see all the items again) a few other things: - no ability to scale items (the roofs in particular are incredibly short an...

Great if you grabbed it on sale or in a bundle: a magical first 30 minutes where random block-stacking yields a cute, satisfying portrait. After that, the content thins quickly and UX frustrations pile up.

I really love this game! I debated buying it for a while but I'm so glad it did. Its really enjoyable just to jump into when you simply want to just chill and decorate something without any complex mechanics. For me personally, its the better version of a game like tiny glade. There's far more detail in decoration than most games like this, meaning you can create some truly unique looking buildings. Its also very easy to create a scene that's really aesthetic or fun to look at. This isn't the type you spend hours in at a time, but its certainly the type I will constantly come back to when I want to chill out and do something creative for half an hour. For the price, this game is soooo worth it.

I really enjoy this game when my thoughts are all over the place. Which sounds lame, but iykyk. Throw on some lofi or classical and just chill. Especially with the rain setting. I do think an update would be cool. Some new blocks or color variations of the ones already there. The ability to tilt or rotate pieces. Hide the HUD. Rain at night would be dope af. Overall, it's a good one. Not everyone's cup of tea but that's the joy of gaming. Not everything is going to be for everyone.

A cozy design game where, if I were more creative, I'd have a lot of fun with.
