Fantastic game. The weird graphics give the perfect vibe for a psychological horror, and I love the idea of choosing dialogues with therapy clients. I thought this was going to be a longer game where you slowly helped (or hindered) your clients' recovery, but the game only spans two weeks of sessions and takes a different direction as more of a thriller. The real direction of the game becomes clear early on, so I was still able to accept that and enjoy it. I will say that some of the "correct" dialogue choices during therapy sessions seem... odd. Like, I'm not sure if real therapists are trained to make fun of their clients. But apparently some of these game clients like that. Whatever, it's all fun. In theory, the game has decent replay value because you have so many dialogue choices and a huge impact on clients' outcomes, but it isn't really set up well for several replays. This reminds me of those old Flash point and click horror games from the early 2000's. My first play through was a little disappointing, as I anticipated the game would be a slower burn where your choices would affect your patients and whether they would succumb to their phobias or not. Technically this is true, but you only get about 2 brief sessions with each client to build them up or break them down before doing 1 exposure therapy session. And instead of your treatments determining the fates of the patients, it's some guy and the happenstance choices you make that could thwart him. After I got over mourning the promising premise of this being more focused on the care of your patients, I was able to enjoy the story for what it ends up being. There was a difficulty system added, but it doesn't feel like it actually makes the game easier or harder as most of the story beats have very specific choices you need to make to make happen.
