It does not matter how you approach this game the end result is “good” or “great”. Story good Characters great Music great Tactics turn based gameplay great Depth good Variety/itemization/builds great Accessibility great Nothing is bad or average or horrible. Nothing will blow your mind or is fantastic but for the price point and the effort they’ve clearly put in. It’s absolutely worth playing Especially since everybody is waiting for Final Fantasy Tactics. This is exceptional in scratching that itch. For me this is a must-buy for the above reasons

About the Game
A remote island, besieged by the dead.
A shipwrecked traveler, plagued by lost memories.
A mysterious witch, in a realm between life and death.
Her motives are hazy. But the offer is simple: become her champion, and bring hell to her enemies. In exchange, you’ll gain a power others would kill for:
The chance to live again.
Now, cast headlong into a power struggle that threatens to upend the world, it's up to you to assemble your party, blaze a trail, and uncover the memories of your former life.
Craft your moves and crush your foes, with crunchy grid-based combat that's fast and mean. Face off against a variety of enemies, from crazed Imperial cultists to the flesh-hungry Fallen, most of whom will wreck your day before you can blink.
That is, unless you take advantage of all the tools at your disposal: persistent upgrades, environmental hazards, elemental interactions, weapon affinities, skill synergies, and more!
The road to your enemies' door is long and treacherous, and no two journeys are alike. Choose your path and navigate choice-driven random encounters that can either lend you the advantage, or rip it cruelly away.
Tackle challenges your way, with 9 playable characters, dozens of persistent upgrades, over 200 unique skills, and 30+ game-changing Relics.
If at first you don't succeed: die, die again.
As you journey across the island, you'll meet a crew of misfits and killers battling demons of their own. Grow your bonds, learn their stories, and help them regain the things they've lost.
But it’s not all about other people. Each time you die, you’ll also collect new shards of your own memory, and slowly piece together the puzzle of the life you lost… and the man you came here searching for…

User Reviews
I liked your previous game so much, it's a pity that you decided to change the genre in favor of the mainstream (
This game is somewhat difficult to review, because the reasons one may like it, are the reasons for other people to dislike it, so you can also interpret this as a "do not recommend" depending on what you like. The good stuff: The game has much better combat than the first game, and it avoids a multitude of problems that were caused by having too many party members available for that same reason. It feels more fluid, and allows for a variety of strategiees by allowing for multiple equipment loads across different classes. It has also somewhat stopped being a blatant Fire Emblem copy due to those changes, and the roguelike format is an interesting take on the genre. Let us face it, if you like this type of game (TB strategy RPG), it is difficult to compete with established series, Final Fantasy Tactics is releasing next month, and a lot of people, myself included, will go for that one even though we'd be playing it for the 15th time on a different platform. The character art is also b...
GIGA GOOD TURN BASED TACTICAL RPG
After latest update the game will not let you past the first act, you get to the boss and cannot progress. Nothing being done about it, so don't buy.
Very good cross of roguelike, Fire Emblem, with a touch of Hades difficulty slider mixed in!
Such an improvement on the first game. Didn’t think I would like the roguelike aspect, but it got me hooked fast. The gameplay loop is Fire Emblem with wild skills, and the game benefits SO MUCH from cutting out the boring camp parts from the first one. Love it so much and can’t wait for the full release.
fun
As a tactical RPG fan, I love this game! I liked Lost Eidolons but quickly got bored of it because of how repetitive (and boring) the combat was. The combat system in this game truly rectified the issues of Lost Eidolons. Furthermore, no more whacky camp loop where you have to walk around, looking for hidden objects and talk gifting people. That was the worst part of that game. Even with Early Access, the combat system is polished, with different skills making each run requiring slightly different tactics. Also, playing on Steamdeck the game has been flawless and it runs with less power than Lost Eidolons which is a godsend for a portable game. I don’t know why it’s not Steam Verified as there are no issues at all. I hope they go back and modify Lost Eidolons with this combat system and remove the whacky camp game loop. Looking forward to what else they add to this. I enjoy this game way more than Lost Eidolons.
Follows the archetypal Rogue-Like formula of making the game arbitrarily difficult with very RNG dependent mechanics that will make the player rinse and repeat. All to distract from how short and shallow the game is. Thought I would give this game a chance since I liked the original game in the series, but honestly Rogue-Like are the Gatcha's of PC gaming. The only positive is that I can say the combat system is better than the first game, just would rather it not be RNG based. If you want a deep dive on everything wrong with this game, look at the top negative reviews which do a very good job of covering all of the issues with the games formula.
