It's good fun with Friends. Roughly 35 hours for one play through. I figure you could do two to three more play through's before you could discover all the content the game has to offer.

About This Game
Control the various stations that run your ship. Reroute power between ship systems, operate turrets, run powerful programs, scan enemy vessels for information to give you an edge in battle, or start up the warp drive to escape a fight you cannot win. The strategies you use are up to you—or your Captain.
Embark on missions, investigate abandoned stations, and scavenge for components that could aid you in your voyage. Teleport down to the surfaces of planets where you may face extreme environments and dangerous creatures. Trek across the galaxy, and discover what lies on its fringes.

- Online co-op multiplayer (1 - 5 players)
- Offline / singleplayer mode
- Customizable AI crew bots in online and offline mode
- Five unique classes; everyone plays a role on the ship
- Fast-paced and tactical ship-to-ship space combat
- Teleport to other ships, planets or stations to join the away team
- Loot planets and stations for valuable items
- Board enemy ships to capture them or destroy their systems
- VR mode (with motion controller support)

The Captain
Nearly every major decision of a voyage falls into the Captain’s hands. With clear communication and resolve, the Captain must be the link that coordinates the actions of the entire crew. As the Captain determines the route the crew will take—through both the galaxy itself and the hard choices they encounter—success is more often than not a reflection of his or her leadership. The Pilot
The Pilot is responsible for flying the ship and navigating across sectors of space. Through management of different flight controls, a Pilot must maneuver the ship through debris, position it effectively during combat, and align it to the next sector for warp. Despite various flight styles in the field, most Pilots become one with their ships and make them extensions of themselves. The Scientist
Scientists provide the crew with medical assistance and information about their current environment. As they possess superior technological prowess, Scientists have the responsibility of overseeing sensor sweeps, ship security, the breaching of enemy firewalls, and research. Furthermore, their skills are invaluable when developing strategies or exploring alien planets. The Weapons Specialist
Guns, turrets, nukes—the Weapons Specialist manages them all. Operating lasers, missiles and any other combat related technologies, Weapons Specialists have the greatest direct impact in battle, and their aim can greatly sway the outcome of a fight. Apart from ship-to-ship combat, Weapons Specialists are also crucial in ship boarding and investigations of hostile environments. The Engineer
The Engineer keeps the ship running. In addition to charging the warp drive and manning the startup switchboard, Engineers must continually maintain and repair vital ship systems, as well as control ship power flow to prevent overheating. Engineers make the most out of a reactor’s capabilities and balance power allocation for the greatest possible output.Screenshots
User Reviews
It's THE space sim. You take the ship, you take your friends/bots, and you can go ANYWHERE! The amounts of cool and immersive systems in this game is insane, too. For example: a scientist on YOUR ship can create a virus program to hack into enemy ship's systems, and sabotage them. Every ship you encounter in this game, has a fully simulated NPC crew that runs around the ship and fixes it's systems, just like on your ship! This is just if Starfield used starships not just for space combat sections, if you could walk around your ship, if love and care was put into it... This game is simply amazing. 3 people made it, yet the amounts of little details here and there is just mind-blowing. For example: an enemy's missile caused one of your rooms to set on fire? Heh, now FIRE drains OXYGEN! Cool, right? You want to fire that big cool plasma canon your ship has? Heh, gotta check the enemy ship's movement vector first! Oh, what's that? Firing the gun applied the velocity t...
Add like a sex minigame in the lounges
I bought the game like 2 years back and was a little bit disappointed by that time. However, when I started to play this game with 2 other friends, it started to be a real fun experience. Actually, the game is really worth to have a look at. A nice story line, a nice balancing of space fights vs. planetary experiences vs. quests... And its also playable singleplayer if you tweak the AI a little bit. We are about to start another play through with more friends since we didnt find all the story lines and achievements in our first play through.
.
Feels like Star Trek, but much better because you are actually in it.
good game
Really fun game to play with Friends, especially since this game doesn't require intense graphics in order to enjoy. So even someone with a craptop can join in on the fun. The ship combat is engaging with each player playing a specific role during combat, allowing everyone to feel involved while playing. However, overtime, the ship combat will get a bit boring as the ship will get strong enough to make most combats trivial but by then you're towards the end of the game already. The quests can be very simple as it's usually "destroy X" be it a ship, a group of enemies or a boss. The story behind this to support this is good, but don't expect any character development or story lines to follow as it will mostly be focused on the players getting 4 key items to win the game. Overall this is a fun game to play with 4 other friends living out your Star Wars or Star Trek fantasies of being a crew doing odd jobs around the galaxy. With different ship designs each with their own layo...
