About This Game

Welcome back!

The game nobody expected is getting a sequel no one's ready for - bigger and more chaotic than the last.

If you have not played the first game - feel free to start here. Lingo 2 has a totally new rule structure, so you can play them in either order.

If you did play the first game and only enjoyed solving the word puzzles - you might want to let a friend try this first. There's always Scrabble!

Featuring...

 • New Puzzle Mechanics - A complete overhaul to the system you had finally figured out. Beginner friendly!

 • Wandering - A large, winding, interconnected world to get lost in.

 • Music - Soundtrack by Icely!

 • Jumping - You can jump! Who doesn't love to jump?

 • Minimal Linearity - An open world that unfolds as you explore it.

 • Ominous Questions - Nothing scary; just making sure you remembered to switch the laundry.

 • Cubes - I didn't count or anything, but there are a few more cubes this time.

What a long strange trip this was.

I loved Lingo and was SO excited to hear that a sequel was made. I was genuinely giggly, you don't understand, because Lingo was a fantastic word puzzle game that everyone should play. However, I am sad to say that, to me at least (and I seem to be in the minority given the reviews), Lingo 2 kind of forgets what made the first one so fun. The letter hunt is specifically annoying, as you have to find letters first to even be able to solve puzzles; and while that could be fun in theory, it also leads to a lot of roadblocks where you get stuck wandering the endless mazes (that are somehow worse than in the first game) trying to find a letter somewhere, with no hints, that may let you continue solving puzzles in different areas. Nothing worse than the feeling of not knowing where to go, more so than not knowing how to solve a certain puzzle. It doesn't have much to do with actual difficulty, or trying to use your brain, it's just searching and searching and searching, hoping you find an ...

Huge puzzle game, feels great to unlock and solve absolutely everything. Positives: - Figuring out the different puzzle types (symbols) is really fun. - Same goes for unlocking letters. With this Metrodivania-like progression, puzzles range from really easily to absurdly hard but they increase in difficulty in a slow and controlled way. You can clearly see which puzzles you can or can't solve. If you can't solve them, you are missing a letter. If you can solve it, you may not understand the symbols yet and have to come back later. Neutral: - Parts of this game were frustrating to navigate. The world is split into smaller sections with only a handful of puzzles. Then there are a few sections that are absurdly large - everything feels disconnected at first, but you unlock lots of shortcuts and turn the section into an open environment. This makes the "endgame" fun, but getting there can be annoying. You absolutely need to create a map yourself and keep track of important things....

I've never felt more justified in looking up answers.

I generally really like puzzle and exploration games, but this one is not for me. Apart from the exploration part, everything is based on words and letters and specific symbols that change a word in a somewhat specific way. Quite often, the answer isn't very clear, like adding 2 more letters in any place to a word, or finding a specific synonym, of which like 5 might exist, to a word, which gets really tedious, without looking anything up. It feels like the game expects you to have a dictionary open at all times, at which point, I would rather just look at the solution directly, if I'm being honest.

Going in after first, we had hoped it would be shorter, around 15 hours maybe. We were wrong. Spectacular game thou.

It's been a long time since I've lost myself into a game like this - Lingo 2's back for another helping of both word puzzles and mazes, and once again it doesn't disappoint.

After looking at some of the reviews, I went into this game thinking "there's no way this has 40 hours of content". There were multiple times where I thought I was halfway done and then the game threw another progression system at me. Great game, great value at $10. Definitely need to whip out a thesaurus for this one.

Frustrating at times, but worth playing. I fully believe its better than the first for a good variety of reasons, but, mainly, it felt a heck of a lot easier to get into.
