Performance is noticeably better now that I can switch off motion blur, but I still think the listed minimum requirements on Steam are misleading. I tried to play at my parent's house with a GTX 1060 and had heavy lag even with everything on low. If the devs adjusted those specs and optimized for mid-tier hardware, this would be a smoother ride for many. That said, the core gameplay loop—mine, craft, upgrade, dive back in—is dangerously addictive.

When writing this the game is in early access, FYI... The atmosphere and world building is excellent. The aesthetic is awesome. The gameplay is surprisingly varied and story driven (Cinematically in the main quest line too). I would highly recommend this game. Currently the developers are building an excellent community to highlight and then fix bugs in this early build, so do be aware it is not a fully finished product. But that's how Early access works, as we all know.
The new motion-blur toggle is a life-saver for me—seriously, I can finally enjoy the gorgeous visuals without that smeary effect during fast turns. I’ve been mining resources and exploring derelict stations for hours, and the art direction is incredible. That said, when I first tried it on an i5-9400F with 16GB RAM and a GTX 1660 Super, it really struggled with lag even on low settings. The Steam page lists a GTX 970 4GB as the minimum, but honestly, that feels optimistic. It might be worth the devs updating those specs to reflect reality.
Game looks interesting but optimisation is terrible, very stuttery, input noticeably lags, I can't play like that.
Overall a very interesting game – I really like the aesthetics and the general vibe. The atmosphere is immersive and the visual style is definitely a highlight. That said, I did find the controls a bit clunky, especially in external view. And the info in the cockpit's UI isn't very clear at first glance – maybe making the elements larger, better color-coded, or giving the option to use the HUD from the external view even in cockpit mode could help with readability. Combat is also a bit unclear. it is not entirely clear the intended approach is, but that might just be due to my limited experience with air/space combat games. Still, there's a lot of potential here and I’m enjoying my time with it so far.
Awesome to finally invert Y-axis and remap keys—something I was hoping for since the first day I tried the game. Crafting and ship upgrades are deep enough to keep me experimenting with loadouts for hours. My only real wish now is for both optimization and a better inventory interface: removing items is fine, but sometimes I need a clearer confirmation or even a multi-delete option so I don’t waste time cleaning out junk mid-mission.
I really enjoyed the concept and setting! The patch cleaned up the HUD, added better control customization, and somehow made combat feel more responsive. The missile reload sound is also a brilliant bit of feedback design. My only gripe - in a latter phase of development, after some optimization: I wish there was an in-game FPS counter or even an ‘advanced graphics’ tab for better performance and efficiency.
I saw Hell Galaxy pop up on Reddit and decided to give it a shot. The concept is cool: creepy space environments, intense battles, and some impressive visuals for an indie project. But honestly, right now it feels undercooked. Even on decent hardware, optimization isn’t great—sometimes the frame rate tanks hard, especially when lots of effects are happening on screen. The Steam page lists fairly low minimum requirements, but I doubt most people could actually play comfortably with those specs. I’m not saying it’s a bad game—far from it. It’s ambitious and has style, but I’ll probably wait until the devs polish performance before diving deeper.
Hell Galaxy is a dark and immersive space experience that positively surprised me. The atmosphere is strong, the sound design truly engaging, and the spaceship movement is very well made: fluid, responsive, and enjoyable to control, making exploration even more fun. Fights have the potential to feel tense and cinematic, adding an extra layer of excitement to the experience. On a laptop with RTX 4080, the game runs flawlessly at max settings, always smooth. The only difficulty I found was aiming at enemies, often too dark compared to the environment, but I’m confident the team will improve this detail along with other aspects during Early Access. Overall, highly recommended for those who enjoy space action with horror elements. The developers have stated their intention to grow together with the community, adding new areas, missions, and content. Considering the already solid results f...
Hell Galaxy has a lot of potential. The idea of factions, massive Titans, and a deep economy system makes it stand out from the usual space sims. Exploration feels rewarding, and the horror tone adds a fresh twist. That said, the Early Access state shows its rough edges. Some bugs can be frustrating. On top of that, performance could use work: the minimum specs on Steam feel a bit misleading, since the game doesn’t run smoothly unless you’re using higher settings. I’ll stick with it, though—there’s enough promise here that I’m excited to see how it evolves.
