If game is crashing when selecting Sonic mode, make sure to set the game options from Shadow Generation at 60 FPS. I don’t know why Sega hasn’t fixed this but oh well

The first Sonic game I've played and it sets a very high bar! Amazing graphics, fun abilities, and good controls. Wish they'd have kept all the achievements from the original Sonic Generations though.

While the main game is a lot of fun, the fact that you have to play so many side-levels to progress is really annoying. I was hoping to just get a ton of Sonic/Shadow movement based levels, but instead the majority of what I was playing were weird challenges that half the time used completely different courses and felt nothing like the main levels.

Shadow Generations is the best 3D Sonic game since Sonic Generations. First of all, the Sonic Generations port fixed all the performance issues on the Steam Deck without needing mods, which is nice. As for the new Shadow Generations portion of the game I can say it is very good, nice levels and platforming all around. The new powers are fun to use and don't detract from the main gameplay, controls are tight as they should be, and the overworld is full of little fun platform challenges that complement the gameplay style, instead of the boring "puzzles" from Frontiers, it seems they are understanding the strength they can achieve with this gameplay formula with nice little variations. The main 3D acts are also a highlight, featuring very good level design and diverse routes and things to discover, resulting in a very solid overall experience. The music is also really good but you wouldn't expect less from a Sonic game, all things considered. Hopefully a sign of things to come and Soni...
