About This Game

Pull yourself up a treacherous mountain to reach the legendary Peak, where eternal glory and a wonderful gift awaits. This journey demands complete mastery in the legendary art of climbing.

Game includes one free expansion, a completely new, bigger adventure featuring a full second chapter that’s more brutal, more ambitious, and absolutely not easier.

BE PREPARED!

When you expose yourself to the influence of this journey, you may experience a CHANGED LIFE which can help you face life's adversities and hardships with harmony and patience.

Enjoy:

- No deaths or violence.

Just the constant fear of falling and losing all your progress. Perhaps that is worse…

- Simple yet deep climbing mechanics.

Use only your mouse to control the arms of the climber. Gamepad supported.

- Hours of punishing gameplay.

The world record is under 4 minutes. You, however, will be here for hours. Possibly forever.

  • A peaceful yet punishing experience.

  • Physics based climbing.

  • Every obstacle is meticulously designed.

  • Endless suffering.

But not:

  • Legs... You cannot use your legs for some reason.

Conquer each of the 7 uniquely designed areas that make up this one colossal mountain to receive the grand prize.

Within this adventure, uncover lessons of ancient wisdom and who knows... perhaps even the meaning of life itself?

Expansion:

A completely new, bigger adventure featuring a full second chapter that’s more brutal, more ambitious, and absolutely not easier.

“The ascent has become familiar… almost comforting. But alas, far below, within the endless water that binds earth to heaven, lies a glimmer of hope - and perhaps a deeper truth.”

Note from the developer:

This game is inspired by "Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy", itself a homage to an older game made by Jazzuo. I aimed to capture the magic of GOI's intensely difficult gameplay, which becomes comically easy once you master it.

I really do not appreciate the 50 times finishing update in both endings. There was no need to. It looks like devs are trying really hard to make it similar to Getting Over It. At first I really liked the concept and physics in the game. And I planned to give a thumbs up but this update changed my mind. So unnecessary.

This game revolves around a cycle, "Woww this is fun!!" "oh wow this is... woo, fun." "WHY DID THAT JUMP NOT WORK!!!" "I hate this game." "After a month of not playing i'm ready to play it!!" "I hate this game.." "I WON!!" "oh wait i actually fell nevermind i'm uninstalling it." "After a month woww this is fun!!"

Thanks for bloating the game with 2 unnecessary achievements... +100 playthroughs for basically nothing, RIP my 100%. This isn't as iconic as GOI, there's no need for a shameless ripoff of GOI's So Over It achievement (which i have). Better thing would've been a speedrun achievement of some kind, or even 1/5th of the required completions. Somehow i'm not even surprised, 9 out of 10 times developers don't have a clue what a good 100% is lol.

Unfortunately 1.5 years after release the dev decided to add two unreasonable achievements. You need to beat the original map 50 times AND the new map 50 times to achieve 100%. An attempt to replicate Getting Over It's 50 completion achievement, however, this game at minimum takes 3 times longer per playthrough even at top speedrun times and requires 100 completions. For all those who previously achieved 100%, you are now stuck at 60%. Unless you are a top speed runner for this game, prepare to spend hundreds of painful hours repeating the same game over and over and over.

Not for me. I think maybe this whole genre isn't for me. The lack of instruction or player feedback makes it feel more like lazy development than thoughtful challenge. It's a niche, so if you enjoy that niche then go for it. But for the average gamer, I would not recommend.

This game used to have two achievements for just beating the game, and then a third one was added for beating the second map. It all sounded cool and reasonable. Now there's two more achievements for beating BOTH maps 50 times. This is pure bullshit. This isn't like Getting Over It, where the second pass was much faster than the first, because you HAD TO get proficient with the hammer to be able to even reach the later areas in the first place, and failing a section was usually only a small setback. This game is just hard, and the second map is even harder. Beating the first map once, doesn't make the second map faster in any remote way, even though most of the usual climbing is idential. This is a giant middle finger to all achievement hunters and completionists out there. If you're one of them, then I highly recommend putting your time and money somewhere else.

I had 100% completion on this game until the 2 new win 50 times achievements showed up. Doing that in Getting Over It was feasible since every new climb is easier than the last, but this game is NOT built for that kind of grind. I'm not putting hundreds of extra hours into this game just because it wants to be Getting Over It.
