Bare Knuckle Sandwich is a 2D boxing game featuring side-scrolling storytelling and a character driven narrative. Follow Gunner as he joins an underground bare-knuckle boxing ring looking for something to strive for in a world full of con-artists, grifters, and people just trying to get by. After meeting a new mentor, Gunner begins to find his footing after a rough start to adulthood. However, it's a long way to the top and he'll have to overcome everyone standing in his way to succeed, especially himself.

Overall Bare Knuckle Sandwich is a fantastic game. The presentation is quite nice although some sprites are kinda scuffed notably the fighters portraits in arcade mode. The difficulty was pretty good outside of Bart. I feel like he was WAY too hard for how early you fight him. The mechanics and combat feel great outside of one, The dodging. Now this could be my Punch out! bias which I'm sure this game was based on but I find it weird that most attacks in the game can only be dodged one way which really screwed with my muscle memory and led to a few losses and not being able to even get knocked down once, I feel was to artificially raise the difficulty. The story was a bit predictable but not bad and the protagonist Gunner I feel was executed quite well. Although i would of liked to see how his life turned out. Outside of a text message before fading to black. Overall 8/0
