Would it have been preferable if the publisher didn't sell the rights to a different developer? Sure, I loved the previous game and I still have it installed. But this is a worthy addition to the Ticket to Ride digital lineup. The gameplay is true to the board game and the UI is easy to understand and use. Do I love having to buy a whole new set of DLC maps? No, but I'm a working adult, and I have a budget that includes entertainment, and this game has proven to be worth the money. They've already released several maps that had not been digitized before (Japan, San Francisco, Heart of Africa) with the promise of plenty more to come. I only play solo against the computer, but I've seen some reported issues with the online multiplayer. But the developers seem engaged and responsive, so issues seem to be investigated and fixed in a timely manner. There are lots of hard feelings towards the publisher that have been taken out on this developer, but that's really not warranted. This...

The game will place you in the 3rd or 4th starting position 85% of the time. AI players will play to "block" your routs even when they are not near their own destinations , and to their own detriment. Played for about 94 hours and find the tickets you start with are predictable according to the position you start in, nothing random about it.

Ticket to Ride® on Steam is a faithful and engaging digital adaptation of the immensely popular board game that has captivated casual and strategy gamers alike since its physical release. Developed by Days of Wonder, this version retains the charm, simplicity, and strategic depth of the original while adding conveniences and polish that enhance the overall experience. The game invites players to compete in building railway networks across various maps, connecting cities and completing secret routes to earn points. Its accessible gameplay, combined with layers of tactical decision-making, makes it a perfect fit for both newcomers and veterans of board gaming. At its heart, Ticket to Ride® thrives on its straightforward yet clever mechanics. Players draw colored train cards and use them to claim railway routes between cities on the map, racing against opponents to complete their destination tickets before others can block or outmaneuver them. This simplicity allows players to quickly ...

It's hard not to look at this as a cash grab. The original Ticket to Ride on Steam worked perfectly fine. The fact that we weren't offered this for free if we owned the original put me off buying it for a long time. That and the negative reviews concerning its UI and bug issues. All that aside, this is a better version of the game. I haven't experienced any UI issues or game breaking bugs. The graphics are better, the music is better, there are more expansions available via DLC and they are all implemented very well. The achievements for this game are also way more fun to work towards and actually achievable. Fancy that. If you're a fan of board games, and you didn't own the original Steam version, this is an easy buy. It's one of my favorite board games of all time, and this is a solid implementation of it.

If you like the board game you'll like this, it's pretty much the exact same but a bit easier as you don't have to keep track of stuff and it shows you where you're trying to get to instead of having to check your cards constantly
