About the Game

"It feels half Witcher, half Game of Thrones... Tails of Iron 2 presents us with a rich, full world."

- The Gamer

"Think Elden Ring, Dark Souls, and Bloodborne, but with a supremely stylish rodential twist."

- PCGamesN

Just as the Rats of the South start to piece their lives together, following the great war between Rodent and Frog, an old and unspeakable evil stirs in the North; wings black as death; fangs sharp as steel; and a thirst for blood rivalled only by their insatiable hunger… for vengeance.

As Arlo, young heir to the Warden of the Wastes, journey through the vast, snow-ravaged lands of the North in an epic quest to overcome the Dark Wings once and for all. Hunt down giant beasts. Unite disparate clans. Upgrade your settlement. And discover a terrible secret of blood and crown…

The time for heroes is over. For the Kingdom needs a warrior; forged of the North and as cold as the snow that shrouds these lands. A rat… carved from iron.

And so, a new tail begins.

Explore a Vast, Wintry Kingdom

Fully narrated by RPG-legend, Doug Cockle, prepare to embark on an epic adventure across the northern realms of the Ratdom; an expansive, frost-bitten land on the brink of all-out war.

Hunt down Giant Beasts

Track down and defeat the legendary monsters of this realm, and be rewarded with rare resources with which to craft devastating equipment. But be warned, these colossal creatures won’t go down without a fight… and then some.

Master Brutal Combat

The lands of the North are a perilous place, so you’ll need to master the fast, challenging combat for any chance of survival. Evade attacks with a dodge roll, nail split-second parry bashes, and unleash an array of gruesome executions.

Customise your Attack

Craft your own extensive arsenal of upgradeable weaponry, ready to fight as you see fit; strike quick with a spear, afar with a bow, or go claw-to-claw with a heavy-hitting mace. Alternativity, gain a tactical advantage with a range of new, deadly traps…

Upgrade your Settlement

As Warden of the Wastes, defending your lands is only half the battle. Construct and upgrade your settlement with hard-earned gold to gain access to more powerful items from the Smithy, tastier meals at the Kitchen, a wider range of powerful traps from the shoppe, and more!

Unleash All-New Sorceries

Unlock the devastating ‘Elementa’ sorceries of Electric, Poison, Fire, and Ice in an all-new magic system. Bestowed upon you by the gods themselves, these arena-devastating powers can quickly turn the tides in battles.

The thing that I like about this and previous part of this game series is that it is unusual and well-balanced. Simple, nevertheless interesting story. Souls-like combat, with challenging and not dumb fights. Unusual setting, Action RPG adventure about anthropomorphic rats. Something to say also about collectioning, it’s good that it just exists here. But for those who like it.

"full controller support, Your Playstation Controller" It's demonstrably not full support because i can only play it with steam input and with showing xbox buttons. Oh Edmund, it's the lying i find so hurtful. Issue has been around since release and still not fixed 6 months later. Despite the above being partially sarcastic I do like ToI2 overall...However, the same criticisms I had for the first game still stand and barely nothing has been added. Still good art, decent story and excellent narration by Doug Cockle but still clunky, padded, shallow and repetitive. I can't really recommend ToI2 because its not better than ToI but it should be and it doesn't bode well for the teased sequel because it suggests it will be the same game again with no improvement, refinement or studio growth. Very disappointing.

I like hard games, love them. Kick me in the balls harder. But. Don't give bullshit hitboxes and hide animations OFF SCREEN so the player cant respond. There are a few attacks, namely the boss after you get your last spell, that have the red area to avoid, then the attack goes TWICE the distance it shows and jumps to the edge of the screen to cover up the next attack. Though to be fair, the red attack could just be a bug. It also leaves poison on the ground starting at the end of the hit box, nothing actually in that box When you are low on hp, the cam zooms in. You know what really sucks? When you are fighting one of the large enemies and actually can't see the symbol above their head to know how to respond, or any of the 80% of its body coming to kick your ass. Like for real, the screen zoom is like 50% or more, it's crazy what you can't actually see I'm all for kicking me when I'm down if I screw up, but don't screw me as the player to where I actually can't even see what...

Oh my, what can I say? I'm not disappointed in this game at all. I know many say it's pretty easy compared to the first game, which is true in some cases, but it also brings a lot of challenge. The true joy is the narrative and the bosses. They are very fun to learn, even if they are at times very difficult. This game is visually gorgeous, just like the 1st game. It has a cute charm to it, and I can't help but love all of the characters involved in the story, even if some falls short. The combat is fun, and is challenging. I know some enemies were a bit easy, but I also struggled with a lot, especially the bosses (and the last boss, FUCK YOU >:( .) But it was all in good fun. I loved the first game, and I find this sequel to be a huge improvement! It introduces so many other worlds, combat systems and gear. My only complaints; It can get buggy at times. The "repetitive" (especially) bosses gets stuck trying to run away from the player lol and you're basically soft-locked witho...

Tails of Iron Ii: Whiskers of Winter is an excellent action adventure game with light rpg elements and a superb successor to the first game. The combat is heavy, blows need to be measured out and greed will kill you fast. You're equipped with a light, heavy and ranged weapon, which together with charged attacks and 4 magic spells keep the combat varied enough for the 12 or so hour playthrough (steam didn't count the hours I played offline). The art style is amazing and the decision to go with narration instead of any direct dialogue is an inspired one - it really gives the whole game a storybook feeling. The story itself is nice enough, it keeps the dark(ish) fantasy feeling the whole way through, but doesn't really do anything too out there or interesting. However, the world that this game (and the previous one) has built is very intriguing - it feels like the world is actually alive and things happen when you aren't around. I found the game exteremly fun - bite-sized, brutal, but ...

Great game, the only bad part for me is elements mechanic. Like it's fine when you can prepare 4 weapons of different type so you can switch up on a go, but it's just annoying to deal with at the start of the game
