About This Game

From an uninhabited planet in space to an ecosystem full of life.

In Planetary Life you will be able to shape a planet in the purest Sandbox Simulation style, playing with its mountains, seas and even its climate, to create the perfect habitat to harbor life.

PLANETS

Control a planet with the multiple tools available. Let the tectonic plates shape the mountains and seas, modify the climate, the heat of the nucleus, the volcanic activity, the gases of the atmosphere, etc... until shaping the home of your creatures.

CREATURES AND EVOLUTION

Add creatures and evolve them from simple organisms to intelligent beings. Design and expand them looking for the balance of a perfect ecosystem.

Help them or let them fight for survival on their own.

CELL STAGE

Create new life forms combining different types of cells. From single cells and multicellular life, to macroscopic creatures and plants.

GEOSPHERE AND ATMOSPHERE

Change core heat and volcanic activity to shape your planet terrain through volcanoes.

Manipulate rainfalls, cloud and surface albedo to change the climate.

ECOSYSTEMS

Build ecosystems. Maintain the balance between fauna and flora. Do not let them break the harmony and avoid the extinction of species.

WALK YOUR PLANETS

You can walk around and see from a first-person point of view your planet and your creations.

CIVILIZATIONS

This feature is still not available in Early Access, it will come in a major update soon!

When your creatures reach sufficient intelligence they will organize themselves into tribes and later flourish into civilizations. Manage and help them in the battle for technology to conquer the planet.

A lot of people will say this is like Spore, but to me it feels more like SimEarth with some Spore elements. Clearly the game was heavily inspired by both and it does a great job merging the concepts together. I'm incredibly excited to see where this game goes and what kind of updates we might get. This is the kind of game I've been waiting for for at least 15 years.

I loved everything, especially how you can enter the cell-stage, what I don't exactly like is the predator and prey system. I feel like anything that is a herbivore with lower stats than a carnivore (or something like that) should try running away. It's really not great seeing predators just eat everything to extinction. Other than that great game! I'd love to see what happens in the updates and hope my suggestion gets taken into consideration development-wise.

For now, I got baited by the game's description saying "From cells to civilizations...". I'll update my review once the civilizations actually get added or the description get's updated. Apart from that the game is solid, I like how you can either sit back and relax or take a more hands on approach with things. The camera needs a bit of work in my opinion, the jumps when scrolling are too big, and it took me a long time before I adjusted to the overall feel of it. Also I think the game would benefit from having the oxygen, nitrogen, co2 etc. able to be displayed in tons, as well as %. However, all in all in it's current state I would recommend you to get the game on a discount, It's fun for a couple of hours or to put in 10x speed in the background and come back later to see what the heck luca turned into. Consider adding a very small chance to spawn a random primitive form of life or an artifact that makes it possible for the complete hands off feel.

This game rules. It's basically everything I wanted spore to be, to be honest. Just fantastic. Probably the best god game on the market right now, no exaggeration!!

Best spore sucessor yet, but i would describe it (as it stands right now) as more of a fusion of sim earth and sim life (not as complex as the latter). It's really enjoyable, relaxing and has tons of potential for growth!

An endearing tribute to SimEarth and Spore which I'd recommend to all would-be gods, Q, and Magratheans. Credit to the lone developer for making such an engaging game.

10/10 game 50,000 years of evolution resulted in: 1. The entire archipelago of my planet being a battleground for that elephant thing from Eternal Cylinder and a legless air-breathing fish. 2. The south pole being filled with blind immobile skeleton-less filter feeding worms bigger than people. 3. A lizard with cat ears.

Literally everything in this game is cool and works excepting one major aspect: water physics. Why do the continents keep submerging and emerging every 10 seconds it feels like the 'oceans' are just small puddles on the sidewalk. Every time I start on a planet with water about half of it just vanishes upon pressing start. and it's either steaming or freezing on the equator when the average temp is like 15 C. This game is really cool and I want it to be good so badly and this is the only thing holding me back from recommending, but hey, it's early access so maybe come back a year or so and see where it's gotten.

A somehow jankier version of the Spore creature creator, cell stage, and creature stage but with a higher learning curve. It's a big pain in the butt to stabilize planets yourself in the beginning because the planet's distance from the sun makes every new start different. I even had a spawn where it was so close to the sun that no matter how high I turned the albedo, it wouldn't get cold enough to sustain life. I gave up on this part of the game and chose the setting to start on balanced worlds. Besides that, some sections of the creature creator are frustrating. If you add several sections of body extensions together and attempt to change the size of any of them, it will only change the size of the last segment of body. Also, due to the lack of a decent tutorial or guide, I still have no clue about the purposes of 70% of the things in this game. Many of these things aren't obvious, and I'm not going to google axial tilt to guesstimate what the setting will do. This makes me think tha...

There is a very solid foundation here with a lot of fun to be had already even though It's very clear it's still in a very early stage.
